The Butler Project, LLC, a non-profit incorporated in the State of Minnesota, has purchased the historic Butler building for the purpose of restoring it to its original grandeur and contributing to the economic vitality of downtown Aitkin.
The plan allows for main level retail, upper level theatre and event/entertainment space, and the lower level featuring two restaurants. The project will be completed in phases, with the retail area being the focus of the initial effort.
Brainerd Lakes area newly renovated historic building offers five retail spaces ranging from 450 sq. ft. to 625 sq. ft. Combines state-of-the-art with elegant, historic ambiance. Types of stores: sports & memorabilia, big and tall mens’ shop, yarn shop, Irish shop, Minnesota products (crafts, wild rice, etc.), bed and bath products, antiques, primitives – no dollar stores or resale shops. $9 a square foot, modified gross. Opening Nov. 1, 2012.
Internet café already committed. Future plans call for two restaurants, theatre renovation & event space.
