Love the location and all the trees surrounding the property. The new management staff is very nice as we moved out last month. I am sure the updated units are nice as well. however the old appliances have been left in the covered parking area for way too long Disappointed to see the dumpster like this, not a good first impression.
Do not apply here. They show you the model which smells amazing, perfectly clean and tell you that’s how their upgraded apartments look like. My husband and I fell in love and put in an application for an upgraded apartment. Right before signing the lease we asked to walk the apartment before anything, when we went in we were disappointed. The apartment was not upgraded at all, it was still dirty, one of the tubs had a hole in it and it had an unpleasant smell. The staff only gave us the option to choose another unit that was “upgraded” we walked it and it wasn’t fully upgraded or cancel our application. Other than that we didn’t get much help from them or even get our application fee back since the whole reason we applied was because of the upgraded unit we were supposed to get.
I’ve discussed my complaints with the on site manager. He let me know the issue was a miscommunication between the vendor and the employee and not on their end. He was also willing to discuss my complaints with me and we came to a reasonable resolution. I can’t give this place 5 stars as the unit we moved into was not fully upgraded as we were promised and as was on the lease. However, the office staff is very kind Tori I believe her name is and the maintenance I’ve dealt with namely Willie have been great every time I’ve spoken with them.
Before I begin, I want to say that a new management team came in 2-3 months before our lease ended. I don't know how the new team is, but this is what we faced living here for several years: - Flooding on a Saturday due to faulty hot water. There was no emergency maintenance number. When we contacted their HQ: their solution was to rip up our carpets and move everything into the living room. We went 7 full days without hot water and the apartment below us caught on fire because of the water leaked from their roof. - Leak above our AC unit caused our own apartment to catch fire. - Flea infestation BEFORE moving into the apartment - No washer or dryer for 4-6 months - Months with 0 maintenance workers - Blamed for the apartment's faulty wiring when it blew out. When we asked why, they said it was because we had one computer and two monitors plugged into the same outlet and a laptop sitting unplugged on our kitchen counter across the room. Told us we had to pay to replace the faulty breakers. It also exploded my computer's power bank so I had to pay to replace that. - Thin walls. Don't bother making noise complaints, they wont do anything. - Dishwasher didn't work when we moved in. Sent in a request and no-one came. Five months later, we sent in another request, someone came and looked at it but left. Four more months passed without a dishwasher, sent in another request and it got replaced about a month before we moved out. We got blamed for it since we "didn't send in a request with the new management." - We asked for a covered parking spot, they assigned one to us, and then new management assigned someone else the spot without telling us so we had to pay for a spot we couldn't use. - Constant reconstruction with every new owner - Staff is hard to talk with; they get upset if you try to talk to them about issues, and in the past they were always out giving tours. - Randomly turns off water - Hires people who destroyed our front porch area - Doors that wont open properly + stained carpets - Speed bumps will bottom out your car in certain areas - Potholes everywhere - Major water damage under some buildings in the parking garage. - Dog park was often flooded and some people were going around with aggressive dogs off leash. You are treated very differently if you have issues with your apartment vs the smiles you get when you first meet them. They treat you poorly if you're given an apartment with lots of issues and they offer no compensation for the price of running industrial fans in your apartment while you're having to sleep on the porch. If they make the apartment unlivable/kick you out for maintenance work no water/no power/bombing for a bug infestation, hopefully you have somewhere to stay because they don't care. Our lease ended May 31st and we are now living in a new place. If you move to the Element, good luck and I hope you have a better luck when it comes to dealing with the management than we did. Edited for spelling
Like most people I think, I typically only write reviews when things are good or bad. Because of what is happening at this apartment, I thought I would share my opinion. I moved in last November namely because I liked access to the bypass to get to work. I learned that there was going to be a change in management/ownership in December which can be concerning because you don't know what is going to happen when there has been a management shift it can go either way from my experience. I am happy and relieve to report the change has been very positive. They are making some very needed improvements. The staff are very nice and responsive especially to my maintenance requests. I have a six month lease and plan to renew in one of their upgraded units. I got a sneak preview and they are very nice. So, this is one of my positive business reviews.
Nice apartments that are well maintained. The new management has been very responsive and helpful. They have made many improvements to the property. This is a drastic change from the previous owner and you can tell they really do care about the residents.
If I could leave no stars I would! The management team has a horrible response turn around time to their residents and it looks like I’m not the only one! Actively searching for a new apartment so that I can break my lease agreement….
Avoid this place at all cost. There is nothing LUXURY about the element allthough the sign will say LUXURY. They have NO POOL, NO FITNESS CENTER, NO TRASH SERVICE, NO CLUBHOUSE. The small chain link fence dog "park" is outdated. The outside BBQ pit are never cleaned. The basketball court is nice I will admit. There are no exterior lights in building 1 you could literally get mugged b/c it's so dark. The parking is atrocious. The bugs omg the BUGS are the worst part. The area is heavily wooded in the back especially and the huge WATER ROACHES the ones that fly are everywhere in the back, There were snakes wrapped in the outside AC Unit. Spiders all the time my baby was bit multiple times. Small roaches the 2nd day we moved in... I complained so much the management said I could be let out of my lease. I have pictures, videos and the emails. The worst mistake I ever made was living here it was hellish. The pros - the neighbors were nice, it's a area close to university and the basketball/tennis court was nice. RUN DO NOT MOVE HERE !!!!!!!!
You can tell the new management cares about the resident experience and the property. The new property manager, Sarah, and assistant manager, Michaela, have been very responsive to my requests. One month into new ownership, and they have already replaced the roofs. I was told they are in the process of installing quartz countertops in the units, so I will be looking to transfer to an upgraded unit when my lease is up. Overall, it's a nice and quiet place to live with all the amenities you could really ask for. Bonus is they have a pickleball court, which is the newest sport trend, so I don't have to reserve a pickleball court elsewhere!
The new management this year is working hard to attend to the needs of everyone and making good progress. I am happy that they are always friendly and service has been great. Broken items are repaired much quicker and the property is well cared for with much better lighting at night.
