What an wonderful experience! My 6 years old son had great first time rock climbing with coach Peter! The owner was very kind and very informative! My son had blessed and we will definitely come back for more fun!
Recently did a day pass here while checking out the various climbing gyms in the area. My one pro for this place is that other than summer campers, I was the only one climbing around the time they open on a weekday. So no need to wait for your turn climbing or worry about parking. Now the places they could improve, let’s start with the fact that the day pass is very overpriced given what this facility offers. $28 with no yoga or fitness classes, and the gym equipment/room is very dated. I have climbed at gyms in climbing meccas like Colorado that don’t charge that much and give you way more for your money. When I was given my tour and we reached the bouldering area, the staff member said something along the lines of “we’re 7 years old and the mats show it, this is where most of our injuries occur due to people being too tense when falling so just be careful.” Yes climbing is inherently dangerous, but you shouldn’t be having enough injuries to be worth mentioning, that’s a problem, you need to invest in new mats. So I was definitely wary of falling when making some more dynamic moves and on the higher parts of the bouldering walls. I actually liked the setting here and felt there was a decent amount of problems to choose from, although definitely less than I’m used to coming from bigger gyms, however it was immediately clear they don’t change the setting often because they had tags going back to late March on some of the routes I was there in late June. Also, in looking into their membership, they are almost as expensive as Reach but with all those issues listed above which Reach isn’t suffering from, and they also require a 12 month contract to get that price whereas Reach is month to month and cancel anytime. Yeah you can buy 1 or 3 months here rather than signing up for the year, but it’s then more expensive than Reach and again, they don’t offer as much for the money. All in all, maybe I would give them another shot if they get new mats, start offering classes, and offer monthly memberships, but for now I don’t think it’s worth the money.
The best climbing gym in Pennsylvania! Kept very clean and the employees are the best. The regular climbers that come in are also super genuine and easy to make friends with!! Gotta love a full body workout that's actually fun! They have kids classes, private staff-belay sessions, camps, birthday parties, scout programs, adaptive climbing and so much more. I recommend reservations if you're looking for a private session because the time slots do book up fast since its based on staffing availability. Usually calling 1 to 2 days in advanced is your best bet at reserving a slot for the day you want.
I had such a great experience. Ellie is really great and helpful. She definitely makes me feel comfortable as a beginner. I would definitely come back again and have her as my instructor. She’s the best!!
I have a Gravity Vault membership from my local gym in Poughkeepsie, NY, so when I was in Wilmington, DE for a business trip, I was glad to see there's a Gravity Vault within driving distance from my hotel. Great gym with a good variety of bouldering problems at least for my level - can't speak to anything above a V2, lol, plus a surprising amount of auto-belays.
Super pleased with my experience at gravity vault in Radnor. Brought my son it was both our first times Climbing. Never cared for heights myself but had a really great time. Instructor was super friendly and very helpful with my son the entire time. Never felt any pressure and always reinforced positivity when he felt uneasy or a little scared. We will 1000% be returning for future climbs as Me and my son both enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Love coming here, staff are friendly and everyone is super encouraging. Definitely recommend coming on Mondays to take advantage of their BOGO day pass!
We had a birthday party here for my daughter. The kids had a great time. The staff was very good.
*Beginners need not even try here!!!!!* We are not beginners, but we just had to walk out because the manager/staff so obviously did not want to help us. We stood at the desk waiting to be acknowledged by the staff person who was standing behind the desk and then once we got her attention, she acted incredibly annoyed to have to come help us giving only one-word answers. The vibe was not welcoming at all, and they clearly don’t want to put effort forth with new customers; we guess they only want seasoned climbers who need zero assistance or rental. Terrible customer service!
This is a great place to climb with plenty of challenging top rope routes. The lead rope climbs looked especially challenging. There's a whole section devoted to bouldering if that's more your taste too. The staff there was very knowledgeable and more than friendly. It was my wife's first time climbing and these guys had her climbing to the top of the wall in no time!! We had an awesome time and can't wait to go back.
