Heard so many great things about this place and finally found they're all true. This place is awesome. They could get ally monies! Super selection and deals on Funko Pops, stickers, artwork, comics, and so much more! Can't wait to go back.
A decent selection of comics & back issues, new/used graphic novels, toys and related products. They have a used music section as well. If you expect to be acknowledged and greeted in a friendly manner --- shop elsewhere. You don't exist until you're at the register.
Found this sister store from the one in Nashville Tn. This Great Escape is awesome!! Super friendly staff, unbelievable collection or vinyls, tapes and CD’s. Spectacular section of back issues and new and current comics!!! A must when in town!’
Amazing little shop! Always an interesting selection of vintage and new toys. They don't have the biggest selection but they always have cool stuff and the staff is very welcoming. I make the drive from Lexington a few times a year just to visit this shop.
Lots of great stuff that changes often, and good sales and staff. There's something here for everyone, but it's definitely the best comics shop in town!
Comic book pricing is all over the place. Multiple copies of the same book with drastically different pricing. I understand grading makes a difference on comics but clearly over priced compared to other shops
Great staff. They are always helpful. Awesome mix of new and old comics, toys, memorabilia, and music.
I've been going here since 1982 I believe it was and they use to have a great selection of vintage action figures now their toys are no different than that at Walmart. If you want back issues if comics it's a good store . But today's comic books is like today's TVand music. It sucks I got there for nostalgic reasons if anything and TK take my son to TK share memories. On top of that they put out new figures that look just like vintage Star wars figures from the 70sand 80s and gen 1 transformers but they don't lab them as such and for the average collector/buyer they think they know the difference but they don't. It dhadd to see. Last time I was there they had onegen 1 transforme which was a cassette that went into soundsave. Out if the box wrapped in plastic asking $75 but had a remake rodimus prime which is worth more but they did not label it was a remake .
Called the store about a collection of items we have. They say "absolutely we are interested in insert item here bring them down I'll make you an offer" we pick up our entire collection and take them down there - wait an hour for him to come back from his break and then he says no not interested in that type of item .. really that changed in the last 3 hours? Shameful and discriminatory I guessed based on the looks of my husband that talked to him.
This was the first comic ship I ever visited when I was a kid. Since then I have routinely gone back for more. Stopped in yesterday they had amazing sales on trades. Also if you're a comic book reader this is THE place for back issues found some stuff I'd been looking for a while to read. Collectibles wise again unbeatable prices on quality stuff. If you're in the highlands make the stop you're bound to find something you enjoy from mysic, to art, to collectibles, books. Movies you name it. There's a reason they've been around for so long and it's because simply put its a joy to visit and the pleasantries vast!
