The Key Clubhouse is a free membership organization where people with mental illness can work on their recovery to regain skills and find employment.
The Key Clubhouse of South Florida offers free rehabilitation and employment services to adults living with serious mental illness in Miami-Dade County. It is accredited with Clubhouse International, a network of more than 330 Clubhouses around the world that follow an internationally acclaimed program that helps people with mental illness reintegrate into the community.
Membership in the Clubhouse is voluntary and free.
The Clubhouse offers pre-employment training, employment placement, a Wellness Program, assistance in accessing support services in the community, and low-cost breakfasts and lunches. Members participate in the operations of the Clubhouse by working side-by-side with trained staff in our Culinary and Business Units.
Our History
The Key Clubhouse of South Florida organization was founded in 2008 by a grassroots group of family members and a young consumer. The group opened the doors of The Key Clubhouse in July 2010 in downtown Miami to its first 10 members.
In 2013, the Clubhouse moved to the Dr. Barbara Carey-Shuler supportive housing complex, where it is now located.
Our mission is to afford people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through reintegration into the workplace and the community. The goal is a high quality of life for all members, ongoing improvement, and the ultimate elimination of stigma associated with mental illness.
