Smells absolutely delightful in there, incredibly nice staff, pretty breads but the bread themselves were very dry. I bough challah from them and it was very dry and dense, it is beautifully braided though.
Rolling out bread for 30 years now. 30 year old sour dough starter. Love the 2lb. Sourdough Batard for sandwiches, my partner loves the Greatful 9-Grain. Bearclaw is a beautiful treat.
Wow..small bakery but, it did smell so, good and yummy. I brought oatmeal and choc. chips cookie plus a apple pastry, I 'll top it tonight with some caramel and sea salt ice cream..
Haven’t been here, but had a very bad experience this morning with driver in van 01 attempting to cut off a semi truck on the freeway then cut me off when the semi didn’t let him pass, the proceeds to go over 80 mph while texting and driving then repeatedly swerved around several vehicles to maintain speeds over 80 mph won’t even consider this as an option now.
Nice shop, people and good selection. Pitty the texture and flavor of their bread and pastries are very run of the mill.
The bread is very good but appears to have management issues. No show at Farmers Market and web page states they open at 10 on Saturday but the store opens at 11. Unfortunately I had to wait outside for 30 mins to pick up my order for an event.
I stopped here for the first time because I saw some beautiful fresh baked bread being taking out. I entered where sign pointed me next door. The items on display were different from the ones I saw. Then I got a French baguette. First of all I wasn't daily baked. It cost 3 dollars. It was going to expire 12/17. The bread was old and it tastes terrible. I could taste the yeast. This is coming from a black French woman. I'm not going back
Best sourdough. They let their starter work longer than any other local or internet bread Co that I could find. Non GMO ingredients and simple, real ingredients make this the only bread for me. Get their old style packaging with the clear wrap & the blue sticker label because it doesn't have extra ingredients like dough conditioners.
I think I've tried almost every bread, croissants, and cinnamon rolls from GRATEFUL BREAD, and I'm VERY GRATEFUL for all of them. The Muesli is my favorite, so far. Besides my grandma's fresh baked every morning before school, this is absolutely a 5 star bread company. Your sourdough actually tastes like sourdough! I can't wait to try more! Good job folks, and keep up the great work!!
I visited the store today and the first time I bought pastry: one plain croissant and one cheese Danish. From the look they didn't look attractive but I thought: as long as they are tasty and don't care so I have asked if they are fresh. The lady said yes. After I left the store, still in the parking lot I took a bite of both of them. Unfortunately both were ugly, at least one day old. She was lying to me. On the positive side, the ciabatta bread I bought was fresh.
