The Stress Management Center is a therapy-based yoga center—the only one of its kind in Marin. We serve a community of people with stiff backs, sore knees, some injuries, and a variety of discomforts, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, orthopedic issues, anxiety, depression, weight gain, joint health, and other issues. We offer a wide selection of classes, but specialize in one-on-one care.

Become a Yoga Therapist: We were the first nationally accredited program in the Bay Area and remain one of only 25 in the world to offer this level of training. Entry-level trainings align with the Yoga Alliance and advanced level trainings meet the professional competencies of IAYT - International Association of Yoga Therapists. The trainings are non-dogmatic, embracing the work of many masters, including Gary Kraftsow, Rama Vernon, Angela Farmer, and Nischala Devi. Massage Therapy: SMC offers medical-grade massage for a variety of aches and pains. Our therapists are licensed in many different types of massage, so we are able to offer more options for your specific needs.
Research: SMC worked together with USF to run a study showing the benefits of yoga and breathing techniques for adults with brain-injuries. This has lead to requests for more research on the benefits of yoga for our returning veterans with brain injuries. We are also running programs for Physician Wellness documenting the positive effects of those programs as well.
Our Founder, Robin Gueth, began studying yoga in 1977 due to scoliosis. She has developed a wide array of tools that are helpful in stressful environments and offers those tools as a Public Speaker, Workshop Leader, Teacher Trainer, Mobile App Designer, and One-to-One Yoga Therapist. She sits on the Accreditation Committee of IAYT and helps other programs achieve a higher level of training for their programs.
