Best clubhouse & staff that we’ve seen across the ~10-15 Thousand Trails parks we’ve stayed at! So friendly and helpful! Our kids had this soccer ball go missing so when we checked the lost & found and it wasn’t there they gave us one they had! Ours showed back up again so we returned theirs but so nice! Plus the clubhouse is very nice and always had complementary popcorn! We had family staying in a cabin too which had some plumbing problems unfortunately they fixed it and gave a partial credit back, but left behind some sludge we had to clean up.. so that’s the only reason for the 4/5 stars.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The staff are friendly and kind. The outdoor pool and hot tub were some of our favorite spots. The grounds keepers do a great job and keeping the yards and trees maintained. The buildings definitely need some TLC. Some of the sites definitely need graded to make them level. Overalls our stay was very pleasant.
We camped here for three weeks while visiting family, but also took advantage of all the area has to offer-from history to local restaurants. That said, we spent a lot of time in the campground. We loved it and will be back! The office staff is wonderful and so helpful Charity and Susan, as well as ground maintenance. The pool is large and clean. Yes, some of the buildings need some TLC but that did not detract from our stay. Improvements on the property are being made. Our site was fine for our 37' fifth wheel with full hook-ups; there were larger rigs than our's that also seemed to manage driving in, parking and setting up just fine. We had very friendly neighbors, and made some new friends. We had a great time and look forward to returning!
Went to check out the facilities. They let us drive through. Office People really nice and helpful. Tight spaces between campers spots. They do have room if they do expand the park. Grounds and bathrooms clean. Good roads. Large primitive camping area. Had 2 pools. lots of activities for kids Fri arts and crafts they keep popcorn made up. big gift and staples shop. Used to be a jellystone park. Membership people on site. This one is a better facility. Will be planning to come and stay. Safety: Saw some kids having fun. Walkability: Good
After reading reviews for about 6 months I decided to go with a camping pass. I was on the edge given some of the ratings at other locations, I 110% would pay the camping pass fee just to stay here for a week!! It's so nice! We are full timers, and new to camping but we have found so many campgrounds already that are just not worth the rates. There's an arcade, mini golf, indoor and outdoor pools the outdoor has the kids side fenced separately, playground, pond, arcade, a store, laundry room, too much!! Something for everyone for sure!! We spoke to the property manager who was extremely friendly. We also met with Elizabeth who helps with the camping passes, bc I had a TON of questions. Let's face it, sounded too good to be true! She and John were very welcoming and knowledgeable about thousand trails resorts all over the nation! If you're on the fence about it call them! Nearby activities: Bush gardens, colonial Williamsburg, zoo
Nice camping resort. They do a great job keeping the pools clean. The only issue is the up to 6" grade on some of the smaller sites near the entrance. But after attempting to level my 32ft camper with over 20 leveling blocks, I reached out to the office and they gladly moved me to a much more level site. Nearby activities: The campground has an indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as an outdoor pool and mini golf. They also have a small arcade with pool tables. There's a craft room/reading room.
We had the pleasure of staying here one night on our way to another TT campground. Never have I ever experienced such happy and friendly staff at any campground. I was greeted by a sweet woman who obviously loves her job and genuinely cares about guests experiences. The whole park was clean and well kept, lots of activities for the kids planned, a cute little Rec center with free popcorn and coffee. Free put put golf, clean poolsincluding an indoor pool for cooler months. Other guests were friendly as well and we had great vibes all around. Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay!
Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, good sites although not level. Indoor pool and warm tub. Outdoor pool closed for winter. this place is located close enough to rt64 that the continuous roar of traffic is always heard.Location: 5/5
Staff is very friendly and nice, the pool is warm the game room is nice and big, I love how shaded it is. But they need to update two things the playground is pretty boring it has only two slides and 1 set of monkey bars, may I suggest a swing set and the bathhouse is very difficult especially if you have 2 or more young kids the shower stall is too small so I had to shower my kids one by one and then take them to the open bathroom to dress them, having to leave the already showered kids unattended because all 4 of us were not fitting in that stall the floors got wet and became extremely slippery and my kids were falling all over the place.
Our expectations and reality did not match at this campground. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The roads are very narrow, not an issue for us but inexperienced drivers with big rigs could have extreme difficulty. A lot of uneven lots. Some campers had to have centerblocks to help level sites. Seemed to have more permanent sites which is fine except they were not maintained. It made the area seem very rundown. Doors missing off campers, piled junk in the areas, high unkept grass. The pool was super clean, activity room was nice. Arcade had a lot of broken machines and the ac was out so it was very muggy. Bathrooms were very clean. The shower heads did not adjust so unless you are 6 ft you are getting pelted in the face with no where to go. There are several kids on site who were highly inappropriate. They are either staff members children or permanent residents. My children were harassed from day 1. I had to tell the same boy to get out of the girls bathroom- he followed them in there, he then proceeded to bark at me and then thought it was okay to spider crawl yelling down the hallway towards me. The following day he would yell profanities at my children anytime they were playing. He would quickly run when I approached. Never saw this kids parents but later saw him behind the dj booth so know he is affiliated. Should have read the yelp reviews this same kid was discussed by other parents! If not the same kid and there are 2 of them thats even scarier. Sadly we didn't feel safe letting our children enjoy themselves. I know this isn't the fault of the campground but apparently this is common behavior which has resulted in us never visiting this site again and ensuring our camping family is aware of the potential situations.
