I had best experience with staff! Nurses and PA’s were amazing and so helpful. They got me back super quick and pay attention to my concerns. I truly felt as though they looked at my situation from every angle and took the best course of action. Even experienced having three different nurses throughout my visit and each one stepped in and were fantastic!
My husband was in extreme chest pain and went to TMC ER. We waited for 1.5 hours before being taken to a room. Many other people arrived after us & were admitted before us. When we were in the back room a doctor came & was talking about heart issues. If that had been the actual problem he probably would have died in waiting room. I definitely have the feeling he was forgotten or paper work misplaced. What ever the reason for the delay it was a bad bad experience
I went to the ER with a foot injury. The wait was long, about 5 hours, but the ER was packed. The staff was dealing with a few very difficult acting people, and did so professionally. When it was my turn, I was treated well. The nurses were top notch, and took great care of me. The Doctors did a great job. I highly recommend this ER.
I went 5/13 because of a horrible fever and abdominal pain, following my hysterectomy surgery 5/10. They were super busy, and understaffed to the point where they had to pull nurses from other departments of the hospital to help. I have AHCCCS so I didnt pay anything at all. They were great with me. They listened to everything I had to say, noted everything. The doctor was really concerned about infection in my case being Id just had surgery. I was there a total of like 10 hours, but they did alot- gave me a bag of IV saline, did bloodwork, Urine testing, an abdominal CT scan, an xray, and a obgyn-type pelvic exam and swab to make sure I was healing properly inside. It turns out I had a UTI probably from the catheter during surgery. Once we evaluated that the UTI was the only problem going on , they gave me a bag of IV antibiotics, and a RX for home. After a few days, they called to check up on me and ask me to switch antibiotics because the culture results showed an aggressive strain of bacteria that was resistant to the antibiotic I was on. That showed care and I really appreciated the call asking how Ive been feeling and how my symptoms are. Im still having bad cramping and discharge but I just switched antibiotics yesterday so Itll probably just take a little more time. If its not better in a couple days, Im just going to go back. Make sure you ALWAYS eat before you go to ANY emergency room, if you are able. Once you’re triaged they usually don’t let you eat or drink ANYTHING and you should assume you will be there for a long time. This is common practice for any emergency room. Every single one. This should be common knowledge at this point but you still have people showing up hungry and complaining they can’t eat, and complaining about how long they spent in the emergency room. You should have thought about that and eaten beforehand if you didn’t have any symptoms preventing you from eating. Plus they do have vending machines, and theres also an entire kitchen/lunch room that serves all kinds of food premade and made to order, snacks, drinks, and by the Ortho/west side they have a starbucks and mini market also. Theres no reason to complain about that.
5 stars for the nursing staff!!!! -3 stars for the poor excuses of the hospitalist doctor staff! 2 ER trips in 1 week. Maybe as a hospitalist, you have problems; like having such a poor bedside manner that you can't be in private practice, or a 'group' won't let you join. Maybe it's the need to be the end all God of decisions. Maybe they're just too busy to give a mmm..hoot. I firmly believe if a patient could record dr. interactions, the recordings would expose the ludicrous responses. Maybe they just don't understand that 'doctors who walk on water...drown" But the nursing staff works VERY diligently and do all they can to lessen the trauma CAUSED by going to the E.R. the nursing staff has a tough job, and their list of duties NEVER ends! When they do everything on their list, someone slams them with a new list. I was delighted to see my attending nurse get a food break, but though it should have been much earlier than 2 hours before her shift ended. They are overworked, so please be easy on them if possible. They are the heroes at least at TMC. It touched me to see how much the attending nurse DID care!
This ER using Fentanyl on elderly, my mom told me they're killing her, I thought its just because of her pain, but then she had massive heart attack and died. Please stay away from this place. In other ER that really cares about patients, nurses and doctors were doing everything possible to save her, but couldn't.
Don't let their 2+ star review fool you! This is a high-quality, high-care facility. Of course, you're going to wait in a waiting room for a while, depending on number of patients and degree of "emergency." For those who complain about long waits - the hospital cannot magically add staff and rooms to facilitate every patient immediately. Staff was incredibly friendly, competent, and caring; and I was not rushed out of my bed until I was absolutely ready to be discharged. The nurses took great care of me.
Honestly disappointed to have a nurse mansplain me my medication. As well as talking down to me and making me feel like my concerns weren’t valid. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would never feel comfortable trusting this place with my health and safety.
I went there at 8 a.m I had been in horrible leg pain to the point I need a cane to walk. It had been 8 days so I decided to go. About 1030 after 4 patients that arrived after me were taken back already I told the male nurse I guess that's what he is at the front desk I was gonna go to the cafeteria and get a bite. I said I'll be right back came back within 25 mins since it took forever to walk. I tell them I'm back and the two snooty I guess nurses at the front desk I ask them if they called me. The one with drawn on brows said yes and you chose to go eat instead. I said I told the other guy with glasses he said he would note it. He also said this isn't a deli it's not first come first serve , like do rudely. I'm back and the two snooty females say now you have to start all over again. So I left. This is why I waited 8 days. The front desk people are snooty and condescending. If you don't like people get a different job. People are in real pain. Used to love TMC not anymore
I see that this emergency room has a lower rating. I believe this is not an accurate rating overall. The majority of satisfied patients rarely write a review. They whole heartedly thank their care givers when leaving. My wife and I have been treated here a total of three times and the staff are professional and caring. Often patients need to wait at different times during a visit unless their care is life threading. This is the way it is in American health care today. There simply isn’t enough to go around, especially during epidemics, flu season etc. TMC is a top notch facility staffed with caring professional staff.
