My son had surgery that required an overnight stay, unfortunately we ended up staying 2 nights, but everyone there was amazing, they took great care of my son and even me & my fiance. I also wanted to add our day time nurse Sandra D. was the best and definitely a sweetheart, we definitely need more nurses like her!!Thank you so much for making us as comfortable as possible during our stay!!
This is tough. It was between 2-3 stars. The woman at the front desk was awesome, she checked us in, checked my daughter’s vitals and got us in a room as quickly as she possibly could. Unfortunately for her and the other patients she was literally checking vitals and checking people in working by herself. Another nurse was “there” with her but was maybe on a break? Which you probably should take in the back, not in front of a bunch of people trying to be seen without so much as acknowledging them. Then we get to the back. Dr. Sosa was absolutely incredible. Amazing with my daughter was very helpful in calming us in such a stressful situation. Awesome, right? Then in comes Megan the nurse who was as cold as possible. Absolutely wish anyone else would have come in. The registration person was awful also, which is wild considering the job description. I get its an ER and you’ve probably seen patients and are at your wits end but if that’s the case go home. or call in sick. Or get a new job. You may do this all the time, my 3 year old doesnt. Have some tact. Xray tech was cool, wont even hold the Raiders fandom against him. So yeah. 3 stars. 2.5 if possible
The wait was tERRIBLE! Took my 11 month old baby with unexplained pain. The front desk lady was not the nicest but the other lady made up for it. My baby was screaming in pain- had waves of this and we had to wait forever. This is a baby. A baby should be seen quickly. I understand there are other kids and I don’t know their story but it felt awful seeing my baby in pain and not know what it was and unable to comfort. We eventually got in and saw a male rn. He was super nice and polite. We also had the best nurse. She was super helpful and cheery. Just made us feel impossible to be mad because she was too sweet. The ultrasound, X-ray team were fast and efficient. Just the super long wait at the beginning and then getting results were extremely Frustrating. But am thankful we got a diagnosis and took care of my baby. God bless the staff, just hope they work on the wait.
Do not bring your child here especially night shift hours midnight to seven in the morning. The nurses sit around at the nurse station and stroll through there phones and chat among themselves. I waiting with my son for almost a hour and still did not meet the assign nurse to my room nor the doctor. When I finally went to the nurse station to ask why hasn’t someone come into our room to check on my son, she told me that she was waiting for the doctor to visit our room first then she will come. I have never been to an ER where the doctor comes first then the nurse not have I been to an ER where they did not come in to check vitals after waiting in triage. I am unsure if this was because I am a black woman and their staff is majority white— due to observation from our room I notice the nurses running into the room of white patients as soon as they got into their room. I will never visit TMC and will never recommend their services to people of color. Take your child to their pediatrician where you and the child is comfortable. Tucson should build more ER facilities that offer 24 hour pediatrics other than this racist and disrespectful place!
I want thank u guys so much for taking care of my bby and making fill so comfortable and felling better. You all were so sweet to my daughter I couldn't thank u guys enough for your hard work u all are amazing
Thank you for taking care of my son who had a stomach flu. The staffs r warm n caring, professional as well. We r appreciative n grateful!! P.s. The nurses also gave my daughter some coloring paper to help her occupy her time. Professional n Thoughtful!! Thank you!!
Brought my daughter here on Monday after she had a fever of 105 and just generally very unwell. I was told it was a virus and to let the fever run it’s course since ‘fevers are good and seizures can happen but they’re nothing to worry about.’ My daughter has been no better and letting the fever run it’s course did not work out and there was no improvement and she has just continued to go downhill. I took my daughter to the pediatrician today for a second opinion and it turns out she’s actually had an ear infection this whole time. She was able to diagnosis this straight away within a minute of beginning her examination. I don’t know why this wasn’t seen and why the doctor was so quick to dismiss it as a virus. She’s suffered for 5 days unnecessarily for something that antibiotics would have fixed and to top it all off we have a hospital bill to pay, which I completely resent having to pay as I don’t feel that the doctor was thorough enough to spot an ear infection - in addition to another doctors bill, since I followed my intuition that she was misdiagnosed and had to get a second opinion.
I really wish I could remember everyone's names, so I will just say I am so completely impressed with the entire Pediatric staff that helped my little one get better. From the moment we walked-in to the moment we left and were waving goodbye to my kid. It is so scary to have your baby so sick and to be at the hospital and then even get sent to PICU. Every step of the way, my son was in great hands. I can't thank you all enough!! For going above and beyond to help him and us parents, feel more comfortable and at ease. You all are absolutely amazing!
Came here because my son had bad stomach pain and vomiting off and on for over a week and it was getting worse. His doctor wasnt in so I brought him to this hospital. It's a very nice children's hospital. But some of the employees were very arrogant. The x-ray tech who took images of my son's abdomen was rude. He was snobby and had very short responses. The doctor came in and said my son had severe constipation and started talking to us as if we were uneducated. He said it was my son's diet and I need to feed him healthier. I know the cause isn't his diet. I'm very into healthy foods I'm vegan, my son is not since he is young but I make sure he gets wholesome, healthy foods I make everything from scratch. He gets plenty of organic fruit and veggies with every meal. He eats chicken, never any red meat. I buy everything organic. No packaged foods. He gets a variety of everything. And drinks nothing but water and milk, rarely juice. I told the doctor that he eats healthy and the cause of his constipation isn't his diet. He completely disregarded what I said and told me "it's his diet"... Just because they are DOCTORS doesn't mean they know everything. This has happened several times. I remember coming here because my son had a fever and a sore throat. I told the doctor I believe it was strep throat and he said he didn't think it was strep throat.. I asked for a test anyways and it came back positive for strep. They should take into consideration in what parents have to say. Parents have instincts and know their children better than anyone else.
Not from the area but has to take my daughter to the ER for stitches. She hates doctors and screamed most of the Time, but the staff did the absolute best at caring for her. I could not have imagined a better ER experience. I would recommend anyone in need to take their child to this hospital
