There's literally only two bars in Cedar City. So how can you not like this place? They're the pirates of Southern Utah. I stopped in en route back to Salt Lake to check it out. Obviously in the mid-afternoon, it wasn't very hopping, but it's an enormous location. They have a menu with very typical bar food selections, and they have alcohol, which is why you're here anyway, right? The people were nice, and the vibe was fine. Again, I have no idea what this place is like on a Friday night, but from what I understand it's a pretty popular Sunday football watching location. You don't have a choice in this area, so I'm CHOOSING to like this place. Keep it up Toadz.
It's tough to want to complain about one of the two bars in town, but with service like it was last night I will not be going back. First off it was a Friday night, Cinco De Mayo, and it wasn't even that busy, but the two bartenders couldn't seem to keep up with the drink orders. Me and my buddy sat there for 15 minutes while everyone else around us got there drinks, even people who walked up after us. At some point their cook just disappeared and the host had to jump in and help, so we had three different bartenders at one time. Then, those three ladies each charged me different prices throughout the night for the same drink, a glass of beer. Very questionable and untrustworthy when prices vary like that. Lastly there was a beer pong tournament that was completely disorganized, and they had the people hosting the event and employees playing as well. Seems odd and unfair to have people who set it up also partake in the event. Not a huge complaint but definitetly added on to the other frustrations. Plus who uses plastic tip darts for a cork dart board honestly? Overall, I'd much rather just drink at home with friends then have to put up with a place like this. Maybe you Utah natives don't know how bars are supposed to be run, but I can guarantee you it's not the way they do it at Toadz.
Just spent a while drinking a few beers, the bar tender " Sassie " was just so nice and friendly. I felt like I was back in my home town in Fl. ---- After reading other reviews I have to say. ". I am glad that I visited, and plan to return while I am in town the next few days.
Went there just to get out of the house on Saturday night. First mistake was going there. Too many steps just to get in. And I was sober. Imagine after a few cocktails. But I don't drink a lot, so not really a problem for me. Because I've never had a DUI, and I don't want one now. And with the new law going into affect, its even scarier. The place is like a big empty factory. No ambiance or attraction at all. Thank God I didn't have to use the bathroom. I can just imagine. So I sat down and ordered a cocktail. The bartenders were prompt and efficient. The music was really bad. All they played was that loud annoying gansta' crap. Then it started to get crowded. I'm not a big crowd person. And when I was half way through with my second drink after putting up with the horrible music for almost two hours, a big smelly sasquatch of an employee came over and said " I gotta' take your chair, its gettin' crowded " Thankfully I was almost finished. But that was the final straw. I couldn't leave fast enough. I've been going to bars for 50 years, and that was a first. Crude and rude. The place really sucks, don't go there. So I left and went to Mike's Tavern right down the street. They had a great live band and a much friendlier crowd. Music that you could dance to. Should have went there first. And a few pool tables. I won't ever go to toadstoolz place again. Worst bar in the west !
Gave this place a shot and stood at the bar while waiting to get a drink and other guests who came in after me we're served before me. Will definitely try it again and will update my review. Hopefully a better experience next time!
Dirty and grimy, seems like there is a layer over everything, smells like barf as you walk in. Not like it used to be! I visited early evening on a Monday. Bartender is nice, but overwhelmed with tasks it seems.
Gave 3 stars, 3 for having Pastrami burgers, -2 stars for not being open during operation hours posted on their own fb and other websites. Can't rate based on anything else, because they weren't open and never been inside yet.
Tremendous food! Good value and good service. Live music on a Thurs night. Good atmosphere, but try the food, seriously it was great. Get the Philly!!
Friendly environment. Staff was professional. Multiple pool tables and lounge space upstairs. Lots of space with a dance floor and patio.
No wonder cedar city doesn't hit the spot past 9 pm. The staff at toadz is not trained to handle any situation. The food i ordered....burger and onion rings, Was like meeting up with your younger brother that cooks frozen food.... yummy.... Also its staff will take the side of any employee who acuses of a patron of demostic violence. Maurice and Trey I believe that's his name accused a patron of threatening to assault a women and refused to get her testimony and to get the police involved. Trey was super unprofessional and maurice failed to do his job. Don't go here.
