Tom Thomson Art Gallery

Well worth the visit. Very moving and emotionally stirring collection of Tom Thompson works. Also had Group of Seven paintings on display. This gallery includes some local artists pieces... introduced me to 2 artists that I had never known before. Small collection took about 1 hour to tour while taking it all in and spending quality time with one of the greatest Canadian Painters. His presence radiating from each of his works. Great staff and I was happy to donate to get in. The little gift shop is also very nice.

Half of the gallery was cordoned off. I liked what I saw but felt disappointed as I don't know when I'll get there next. The building itself looks like a nice little galery.

Interesting display. $5 or pay what you can. Sad to hear that many rolls of film were lost in a canoe tip.

Really nice art gallery, the place is nice and clean, staff professional and friendly.

First art gallery so I can't compare but I felt it was a good experience and would recommend checking it out for yourself

Gallery itself is nice, small intimate, and staffed by very pleasant and knowledgeable people. It does not have an extensive collection of Thompson or any group of seven painters however. What I saw there is nice, by any standard, just limited. It is worth checking out, certainly and especially if you are in the Owen Sound area. I think I would have been disappointed had I come a long distance to see work by Thompson. Perhaps it is my misunderstanding. It does also display compositions by more contemporary artists. So while it is the 'Tom Thompson' it is not exclusively Thompson or group of seven.

Stopped here on the way home, loved it. Lots of different artists featured. Wish I had longer to stay.

A criminally underrated spot full of charm and warmth. The volunteers here are exceptional and have a deep knowledge and passion for art. The best art gallery experience I have had.
