Description

The racetrack was built in 1964 as a 1/4-mile asphalt oval originally called "Tomah-Sparta Speedway". In 1996, the track was purchased Dave Thompson. Under the ownership of Dave Thompson, the track was renamed "Excalibur Motorsports Speedway". It was reconfigured and paved into its current configuration of 3/8-mile asphalt oval. The current paved track layout is slightly asymmetrical and favors drivers who use the outside line exiting the second turn and head down the back stretch which runs uphill. The inside line is faster exiting the fourth turn and running down the down hill main stretch.
