Paid mike nearly $1100, to do a job for some leaf spring repairs and replace, barely, a month after I am stranded on side of road, same leaf spring he supposedly fixed and replaced has broken and some even more damage, I reached out to Mike for him to come being suppose to be mobile, to repair his work, and the lady at his shop, I believe is his wife, replied back that there was nothing they could do for me, so they have now cost me to have to pay someone else to come to where I am broke down with trailer, to fix their work, their very unprofessional with how they handle customers, and to refuse to come out and fix his mistakes, stay away and be warned, that they do bad work, use cheap parts as I am now finding out, put leaf springs on wrong, the whole job has to be redone plus the damage his work has further done, to my trailer, so costing me nearly a couple thousand more, being this was not a cheap job to get done, and be warned, he shows up late, leaves claims he has to go back and get more parts at warehouse, and then charges you another $150 service charge, very shady operation, stay away!!!!!!!!! And if you notice the reviews on here, especially the high ones, several are done by Mike himself, last name same, he just adjust first name, and his wife has made several reviews, of course high ratings, so these reviews do not reflect just the paying customers, appears they put in reviews themselves to pad the reviews for higher review rating, VERY SHADY!!!!
This company is great,a real life saver. They fixed my trailer the day I brought it to them as I watched. I called about 5 places before t tried the and all off them said I'd have to drop off my trailer and it would be about two weeks. Thanks trailer Dr. From now on they'll get my business and that of my boating buddies.
We broke an axle on a 1000 mike trip on a Saturday evening and were lucky enough to find Mike, who worked overnight to get us back up and running by Sunday morning. He is an absolutely great guy who does top notch work at an affordable price. I would recommend him to anyone with a trailer in his part of the world.
It is a only of its kind service in the area. Especially in the after-hours and weekends and they carry their parts in stock which makes them invaluable if you're on the road and experience problems with your trailer during any of these times.
I had them do extensive work on my trailer last august 2016. $1100 worth of work. After their repair, i had them come adjust the wheel well fender because i could see the wheel well fender was only an inch from the new tire.They came out and adjusted it. I used the trailer only a couple of times to launch the boat. The launch was 50 feet from where i store the boat and had no issues. In March, 2017 i took the boat and trailer to the boat repair shop to get a tuneup. I made it only 10 miles from my camp and had a blow out on a brand new tire. Changed the tire, slowly drove the boat home. i could see the tire was blown out from hitting the wheel well fender. I am not sure if the new axle they put on was too wide or what but i know the wheel well fender gouged into the tire causing a blowout on the interstate I called the trailer doctor 3 times and they never came out to look at the poor job they did. Will not use them again.
The torsion bushings on my 5200# Magic Tilt trailer's axle were frozen, and I needed a new axle. Mikki worked with me extensively by email to identify a suitable replacement tosion axle from Tie Down that was a VERY close fit to my trailer a little grinding out of the slots was required. Torsion axles are great, but selecting the right one is crucial since you can't weld on them rubber bushings inside. I can't tell you how appreciative I was that Mikki took the time to gather all the needed specs and diagrams from Tie Down to be sure we selected the correct axle before ordering the special order non-returnable axle. The axle arrived quickly, and Mike was very helpful in walking me through several tips/pointers on doing the replacement when I went to pick it up. I will be using Trailer Doctor for all my future boat trailer service and parts needs!
I had to get my boat trailer repaired quickly. The Trailer Docter was the only company that was willing an able to assist me. I didn't have to take my trailer anywhere. They came directly to my home.....WOW...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! These guys were friendly, professional, and stayed to the job was done. Plus the cost was really great. Fantastic job guys! If you want your trailer repaired properly, quickly and at a good rate, I strongly recommend you go to the Trailer Doctor....
Scam and sham! We broke down on the side of I-10 coming from Tx. It was a holiday and Trailer Doc were the only company open. I was given a time and priceby Mikki that they d come for repair after I had the boat and trailer towed to my rental residence. Per Mikki these are the jumbled, ridiculous excuses we got: 1st timeline-2-3 hr dispatch after deposit paid 2nd-they are running late 9:30pm they ll be there 3rd-they are doing some of the work prior to coming to minimize outside timeit’s cold out so 12am 4th- 3am -they aren’t there yet, hmmm Finally at 3:45am Mike and 2 men show up. A 2-3 hr job goes on for 12hrs!! Price increases naturally. Later the next day-we drive the trailer, another tire pops but the rim is cracking now on this one, 3 other tires are riding on the fender, loose bolts all over the place and no ability to backup the trailer. Naturally the Trailer Doctor doesn’t answer my calls as they have been paid already. I placed a dispute on PayPal money and Mikki calls with a quickness. Fight insures and supposedly Mike is to come back to fix the issues. 5 hours later and still no fix or Mike. I imagine if this doesn’t get addressed or the money refunded I’ll be taking this to another level. Their reviews do not reflect the work and business-don’t trust em and someone on Yelp left a mirror review of mine so read on. There should be negative star ratings for business like this. **Note that 3 of the 5 star reviews are the owner Mike padding his scores!!
Count on talking to either the chief mechanic with 20 years of repairing boat trailers, ,utility trailers, and enclosed trailers in the field OR the office manager who has been selling parts for all trailer types and brands for 24 years. Mike or Mikki / Family owned / veteran operated. Raised Louisianian.When Mikki answers the phone, you know she knows her parts.Ask for parts specials in bulk or money spent tiers. bring your quotes and parts listings and this company beats them.APPLES FOR APPLES bring any trailer item quote from any internet store the doctor will price/beat/match all .
rewired my lights at a reasonable price and fixed the tailgate. I suggested a grill repair/cleaning service for those with Weber or Sams grills that are getting older.
