Dr. Jenn is by far the best in her field. She's not only brilliant however her humble way of explaining things so they make sense to her patients is truly what makes her stand apart. There's a reason there is a waiting list to get an appointment with her although it's well worth any wait!
I have had hypothyroidism and PMDD for many years now. Dr. Jennifer has given me amazing results that honestly others missed or just didn’t bother to care. She listens to symptoms,and then backed by lab work, works with you to provide the best treatment. She is very knowledgeable of hormones I am amazed at how many google docs out there believe that an obgyn isn’t knowledgeable of female hormones! The thyroid requires thyroid hormones geez. she takes all of my concerns seriously instead of making me feel like a hypochondriac like my old endocrinologist. The thyroid and my pmdd effect so many parts of the body and she knows this is and trying so hard to help me feel as normal as possible. She has done several things for me that no other doc has done and I am feeling so much better!! She has called when I have had concerns and answered my questions and immediately booked tests that I needed because of my symptoms. Another note, I am overweight. She is only the 2nd doctor I have had that does not insist that my weight is the cause of all my problems. She doesn’t bring up my weight. She doesn’t assume I am unhappy with my weight. Why? Because that’s not what I went to her for and I know my weight issues are a result of my medical problems. She has had every opportunity to sell me weight loss plans but has not once. I know we are in the right track because I feel so much better and I finally am maintaining weight and not gaining just from looking at food. I love her dog Jack and I love allowing him in the room. Many don’t realize that my fast talking and chattiness is a result of social anxiety and He really helps with it
Similar to what other reviews have stated, Dr. Iacovelli diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and prescribed me to Synthroid and Triostat while also starting me on a Vitamin D regimen. I noticed an improvement initially, which I attributed to the Synthroid and Triostat. After moving across the country for a new job, I established care with a new physician to treat my hypothyroidism. I also spoke with two other healthcare providers, one of whom has an endocrinology background. After showing all three of them my lab results from the two years when I was under Dr. Iacovelli's care, none of them could understand why she'd diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. All of my levels T3, T4, and TSH were well within the normal range at the start of care, and after being on Synthroid/Triostat for six months, some of my levels were actually worryingly HIGH. As a disclaimer, all three providers said it's possible she based her diagnosis on something she was seeing that they could not. However, they also all stated they wouldn't have diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. I realize medical professionals can only make judgement calls based on the information in front of them, and maybe there's some crucial detail missing that led Dr. Iacovelli to believe I had hypothyroidism -- but it's really unclear what that would be. And after seeing other reviews mentioning similar experiences and personally knowing other people who've received the same diagnosis & medication regimen from her, there's clearly something....odd happening here. The thing is, I DID feel better after starting the medication. My mood and energy did a complete 180. However, this turned out to be a side effect of the Vitamin D regimen and had nothing to do with the thyroid meds. The other thing that concerned me was the office's approach to weight management. When I was ready to discuss weight loss programs, I was handed a sheet with several program options, all of which consisted of a various cocktail of supplements in a range of pricing options. And of course, the more money you shell out, the "faster" your results will be. I readily admit I'm not a nutritionist or fitness expert, but neither am I totally ignorant of healthy eating & weight loss principles. I also recognize a money grab when I see one. If these programs had been accompanied by, say, nutrition counseling and/or a customized meal plan to teach healthy eating habits, that'd be one thing. Unfortunately, at the time, I was desperate for a solution and gave one of the plans a try. But after purchasing it, I asked the nurse what I was supposed to eat, to which she replied "just google the HCG diet." Gee, thanks. For the record, the HCG diet is essentially an eating disorder 300 - 500 calories a day, no dairy, carbs, or sugar. That's not a lifestyle change -- that's a crash diet. Anyway, TL; DR: if you receive a hypothyroidism diagnosis from Dr. Iacovelli, I'd recommend getting a second opinion. Also, be wary of any doctor's office that tries to sell you crash dieting as an effective weight management solution.
Dr . I is amazing. She not only listens but hears you when you tell her something is "off" within your body. She is extremely down to earth, doesn't be little you, and truly cares. The office staff is amazing. They try their hardest to make sure you are taken care of. My one & only complaint is scheduling. It is very difficult to get in however their cancellation list procedures are amazing and will get you schedule as soon as they can.
This practice has helped me feel better in so many ways. Always monitoring my symptoms and making suggestions, never pressuring the patient one way or another. They just provide options after educating the patient in a way that I have found very thorough. Always there to answer questions and to follow-up.
I should have wrote something when I first reviewed and left a rating for Tree of Life, and I feel that it wasn't enough to just leave my rating of five stars. For the two cases down below this review, please be sure to read the responses from the care provider, as they go into detail about the issues those people had. Do not be hesitant to seek care from Tree of Life, I've been a patient of theirs for some time now, and they have only treated me with the utmost respect and care every time I come to see them for hormone follow up or any other issue. Dr. Malone is an amazing woman who is kind, polite, and just an all around great woman to get care from, as well as the rest of her team. I've referred a few people to her clinic, and every single one of them came back with raving reviews to me, saying how she made the normally harrowing and scary experience of seeking hormone therapy into a normal conversation about your health, and they won't go anywhere else. And neither will I. Thank you Dr. Malone, and your team, for your amazing work and providing the people in your care with the best advice and caring nature that we need.
Best doctor in Arizona for women and men. She is so extensive in her blood work that she diagnosed leukemia in my husband. We are so grateful for her dedication to her patients!!
Updated - after my first experience, the office staff and doctor have reached out and provided me with an exceptional experience. They contacted me immediately, and scheduled an appointment. They ensured I had all necessary paperwork, and walked me through what to expect . They followed up with reminders. Upon arrival I was greeting in a welcoming, friendly and professional manner. I was seen on time and Dr Lacovelli was fabulous. She took time to explain everything and ensured all my questions were answered. So happy for the second chance.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! I have been going to this place for years and today I literally was refused to be seen for walking in at 11:21 thinking my appointment was 11:30 but I guess it was 11:20 and I needed to “check in” at 11:10. So I politely asked to come back later for my original apt at 4:30pm she said sorry that is already filled I’m sorry what?! I wish I could charge this dr every time you she was EXTREMELY late for my appointments, your time is NOT more valuable than mine. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for how you treated me today! I will tell everyone I know to NEVER go to this doctors office!!!
DR. IACOVELLI has changed my life I have never felt better! I have the energy I had as a teenager and my moods have stabilized. I am a better mother and wife thanks to her! Thank you DR. IACOVELLI you are the best.. seriously!
