The Tri-County Health Department is the largest local health department in Colorado. It is our mission to protect, promote, and improve the health, environment, and quality of life for the residents of Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties.
Tri-County Health Department's dedicated employees serve the more than 1.4 million residents of Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties.
Most people don't realize how many vital services they receive from their local health department. These services have become such an integral part of America's standard of living that most people take them for granted.
These essential public health services include providing immunizations, family planning and prenatal care, improving nutrition, conducting restaurant inspections, and assuring sanitation.
As a result of the many remarkable public health programs, Americans are enjoying a longer, healthier and more active life that was inconceivable only a few decades ago.
But we still have much work to do with the many new challenges that are facing public health agencies. They include obesity, tobacco use, injuries, lack of immunizations and lack of access to adequate health care for all citizens.
As part of our mission, all of us at the Tri-County Health Department will continue to work to address these - and many other - public health problems in the future.
This page serves as a communication point to the public about the ongoing initiatives and work accomplished by the employees and volunteers with the Tri-County Health Department.
