Founded by Coaches Kris Wright, Willie Washington and Lynn Allen and later joined by Margie Gilchrist, Tri-Star Gymnastics is a nonprofit and tax-exempt organization that has been offering instruction in gymnastics, tumbling, and trampoline to children and families from Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and Chicagoland area since 1987.
We offer many recreational gym classes that challenge, engage and delight toddlers through teens of various abilities. There are classes for toddlers to participate in with their "special adult"; "Mini-Star" classes for 3, 4, 5 & 6 year olds; "Beginner / Advanced Beginner" classes for 6 to 9 year olds; and classes in both gymnastics and tumbling for older boys and girls of various skill levels. The total program also includes "All-Star" and "Fast Track" classes (for children who really like gymnastics but are not ready to make a team commitment); "Tumbling & Trampoline" classes; "GIJO Team" (Junior Olympics) and "USAG Team" (the national age group program for both boys and girls).
Tri-Star's philosophy is that gymnastics can be fun for everyone! We believe that it is not just the learning of skills that is important, but also the process of learning. We help them learn patience, courage, and self-discipline, as well as how to recognize and build on their personal strengths. Children should come out of our gym with a sense of satisfaction that they are challenged to do fun new things, that they are improving skills; and that they are individuals who are accepted and cared about. We are friends. We are family.
