My uncle has a campsite he rents up here and I love to go up and take a break from the city and it's the best place to do so
Really enjoyed camping here, however it is now Suncook River Family Camping Resort and has new owner's. The new owners have been continuously working on the entire property and it's coming along great. Crystal that works in the office/camp store as well as assisting campers with anything and everything. She really went above and beyond to be helpful, accommodating, and to make us feel welcome. There's an inground pool, a stage for bands that sometimes play on the weekend and a small camp store in the office that is actually reasonably priced lots essentials in case you forgot something. The campsites are all on the river which was nice but, they offer no privacy whatsoever from other campers. They also had a couple small cabins that had electricity and a place where you'd usually have a mattress and linens but not during covid times. One thing that disappointed me was that there weren't any running bathrooms/toilets or running showers yet since they weren't finished building them. They had porta potty's but they didn't offer a discount for the showers. Other than those few complaints that are in the process of being fixed it was a great place to camp! Relaxing, quiet nights, views of the river from every site and the people were amazing.
Amazing staff, family friendly, great, on the river sites for tents and campers.RV sites as well. Lots of fun activities for families! Great clean pool. The owners have become like family, so accommodating! Great people! So many new friends made there this summer, everyone so friendly and helpful and welcoming!
The entire park smelled of port a potty. If you're into partying all night and dealing with drunk campers, then this is the best place for you. Rolling in, it looked like a gypsy commune and some trailer sites looked like the trailers weren't safe to walk around. Others looked like the site hadnt been clean in years. Definitely wont be back.
We had a nice site on the river; the Pool was well maintained; however the grounds are poorly maintained: junk cars and run down trailers adorn the place. If you don't have a bathroom in your RV don't bother coming here, the 2 outhouses along the river were absolutely horrendous. The advertised rec room doesn’t exist; the camp store lacked anything to do with camping minus ice and wet wood. Swimming is possible in the river after wading through the black muck on the beach. This place is just a dump; I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. Should be named the “Twin Stinkys” after the outhouses.
It's simple camping very owner occupied a beautiful place to find serenity as for other campers it's all what you get involved with it's my serenity and very simple no complications unless you cause them. Owner Ann is a loner kind compassionate women you get what you give respect goes a long way....
Camped here for one night. It was extremely loud all night. People talking, playing loud music. There was a truck parked in front of my tent with the headlights on,I had to tell them to turn in off after a couple minutes. Quiet time is no existent although stated on their website. I guess they have wifi but I wasn't told the password when I checked in . Lady at the front was not that pleasant also.
Our cabin was disgusting. The loft was made of a couple peices of ply wood. Nobody would go up there because it looked unsafe. The little decks roof was on verge of collapsing. And the roof in general was about to collapse. If a aberage sized man decided to run into the cabin we were in it would go strait into the river into thousands of peices. The pull out couch had no bed so even sleeping on the couch regularly it felt like metal bars. When your taking a walk through the trail there are broken down cars and chunks of metal everywhere. And when we walked out of the cabin all you could smell was marijuana. I did not stay one night. We had my friend to come pick up his grill, he was about to go through the gate and the owner had to play 20 questions with him for why he was there. He said you can stay 5 mins or pay a visitors fine. He was there for less then 30 seconds. This place deserves half a star.
Had a lady next to us who arrived after 11 Pm and was screaming at her kid and the man who was with her. She parked half way in the road and was part way in my campsite. She was threatening to beat up her child who looked about 2. She yelled at my daughter when my daughter confronted her about the car ,"she said your not the owner. Than she had the audacity to say we were rude and she hopes we leave soon My other neighbor was listing to country music all night which none of my camping party likes. We also couldn't get the showers to work. Worst experience ive had camping, won't come back.
