Located right across from the bus loop and student union building. Great spot to buy books, textbooks and UBC apparel. Starbucks located right beside it. No real parking spaces in front and need a mask to enter, which is fine. But if you don’t have one, they charge $1 for one.
A truly fantastic bookstore with a selection that goes well beyond textbooks and school supplies. Helpful staff placed special orders for me and directed me to books I was searching for. Engaging displays on timely topics such as Black History Month. I parked outside in one-hour parking for $4 on a Saturday.
One of the largest university stores in North America. With over 1 million visitors annually. The current location was established in 1983. A $5 million renovation began in 2013, which saw an expanded clothing and giftware selling area and cafe. Limited storefront parking. Metered parking only. Alumni receive 12% discount on select products.
Overall an excellent resource! At times very busy. My family always love to visit when they come to Vancouver. Very supportive of the UBC Wednesday farmers market. Really nice corner store that accepts student payment programs.
The staff were extremely efficient, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. In addition to helping us find a hoodie for our oldest son, they have a Lulu Lemon store!, they also gave us directions to our destination. I highly recommend a visit.
This outlet contains some quality merchandise, I will give it that. However, as a student in one of the most unaffordable cities in the world, one would expect that the amount that is paid through student fees and tuition would be one of the only extortionate expenses one would have to suffer. But oh boy. Do not expect to walk out of this store and look at the receipt of your recent purchase of necessary course itinerary and think that you didn’t just get ripped off immensely. But the hoodies go kinda hard tho. Overall 6.5/10
I'll happily change this to a 5 star rating once the hours are extended. I can't tell you how many times I've checked to see if the bookstore is open in a time of need and it wasn't. Students need books and resources past 5pm, and there are plenty who could use extra money!
Good General supply store, but limited selection of UBC apparel. Not able to find any UBC athletics ie basketball, golf, or football shirts, polo’s, or jerseys for gifts. Would be nice if they carried more.
Horrible management, drove for 90 min ×2 in the beginning of a snow storm to get there and have them tell us they're doing inventory. Website said open. Other people drove more then 4hrs. What a joke. Super disappointed. The manager should known better, who does inventory on a Saturday why not do it after store hour or on a Sunday and make SURE YOU LET COSTUMERS KNOW.
Stuff is somewhat overpriced, but honestly you cant go wrong with UBC branded gear. The merchandise makes for good gifts and you can sometimes find a good deal for novelty items.
