Our operating costs are lowest in the industry.
The first key to our success is a dedicated staff of professionals who administer the plan and maintain a network of providers. On average, the staff members have been with the organization for 17 years. Many railroad workers have come to know them by name, even though they have never met face to face, but our goal is to make the whole process invisible to our members.
The second key to success is to give our members the highest quality medical care available. Our participating network is nationwide, and many professionals are added through the requests of our UPREHS members. We are an open network. Members can use the services of network providers without referral from other physicians.
Healthcare claims go directly to UPREHS from the participating network provider. State-of-the-art processing allows for smooth and efficient claim payment. Ninety-five percent of all claims are processed within 10 days. Rapid processing gives members piece of mind and maintains good relationships with UPREHS’ large network of providers.
