University Academy Charter High School is a four-year comprehensive public charter high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Jersey City, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The school opened in the 2002-03 school year and operates under the terms of a charter granted by the New Jersey Department of Education in 2001. Through its affiliation with New Jersey City University, students who graduate from the school with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher are eligible to receive a four-year scholarship to NJCU.As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 423 students and 37.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.4:1. There were 266 students (62.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 57 (13.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Awards, recognition and rankingsThe school was the 283rd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 339 schools statewide in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2014 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools".
