The College of Arts and Sciences brings the strengths of the small liberal arts college into the context of a large comprehensive university, offering more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across the the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences.
The College’s educational philosophy focuses on personal attention and close faculty-student interaction. It fosters an environment marked by connected learning and sends forth broadly educated students who are thoroughly prepared for their future endeavors.
The College is organized into 18 departments and 10 interdisciplinary program areas. It also sponsors the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community, the Hanley Sustainability Institute, the Human Rights Center, the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives and the Center for Tissue Regeneration and Engineering at Dayton (TREND).
