To start, I WILL NOT EVER BE RETURNING TO THIS COURSE: This is a beautiful course, with great staff and great service. The experience i had here was more than unpleasant, it was actually exceptionally bad. The other golfers on the course in the group ahead of me were not only exceptionally rude and disrespectful , not only me but the course also. They tried to physically intimidate me and the staff did absolutely nothing about this. Since it seems that this kind of behavior is tolerated, that is the main reason I will not be back to UMD’s golf course. If you do come here, expect extremely overpriced food worse prices than my country club $6+ for just a hotdog alone w nothing else, expensive cart fee, and for the green fee…honestly there are much better courses to play in the area. Not ansuper challenging course either. Without the hostile experience it gets a 5.7/10 for high, country club like prices without that kind of service, and a staff that doesn’t know golf and doesn’t care at all.
The course is in fine shape. The normally fast greens are still a bit slower after the aeration in late August but remain solid and healthy.
If you want to play for 6 hours, waiting behind a foursome of 70 year old's that can't hit it past their shadow and won't let you play though, this is your spot. 6 hour slow rounds every time!
My tee time was noon, I paid $82 on a Saturday, the person in front of me had an 11:50 tea time, he paid $82 and got a free bucket of balls no free range balls after 12 that's not fair. The course is in great condition as they were setting up for a Junior tournament. The greens are fast oh, and the rough was thick, definitely a fun course to play... today I played it was $75 and it was cart path only
Beautiful course, atmosphere was great, even better when people behind you use their brains as the pace is set by the play in front of you and in front of you and so.......
Beautiful course and friendly staff. It’s challenging yet playable for all levels. And if you just want to hit a bucket of balls, the driving range is very accessible.
Very friendly staff. I played with the greens keeper, which was very helpful as he explained why they used fans on certain holes and the special seats on hole 15 I think that we’re the stones used in the original capital building. Interesting history and beautiful course.
Can be a challenging course to play from the back tees at times but overall is in good condition most of the time considering the amount of local play it gets. Prices are good and you will certainly get a good workout if you walk it!
Professional staff, clean and neat. Challenging course with Good fairways and greens.
A great course with it's challenges. So holes for me are a little long. Walkable but be prepared to some hills to climb.
