This facility of USF is absolutely outstanding . I would say its comparable to top 10 % of the schools in US .PRINTING , audio visual, disability, study aid facilities are topnotch. Alumni membership fees are dirt cheap compared to the service provided. The best place to write your papers or assignments is definitely the 5th floor. The GIS, 3D printing facility in the 1st floor not basement is something I'll miss . The collection of reading materials from advanced propulsion system to random comics to hurdred year old newspapers are astounding. Starbucks was a regular go for my morning coffee.GO BULLS.
Overall a very nice library, but if you are looking for quiet study this is not going to be a good place to do so. People have super loud conversations in the study rooms that you can hear from a distance, and people take phone calls and have whole conversations on the “silent floors” 4/5 on a regular basis. Definitely bring headphones if that sort of thing can interrupt your studying!!
A great place for all kinds of study including group study, research, or seminar presentation. There was a computer lab on the first floor, common study areas on the second floor, and quiet study areas on the third and fourth floor. There was also an excellent collection of books, CDs, and other study materials. One of the best thing on-site was Starbucks coffee store which was almost always busy.
We asked Siri for a nearby beach and she took us here. Absolutely amazing little hidden spot. Quiet, tranquil and beautiful birds for bird watching
Amazing place to study peacefully! The Coffee from Starbucks keeps u awake if u want to make it through the night!
Very well maintained. Has books of every field. The study room booking facility is pretty useful. The place is generally quiet and friendly. The low maintained temperatures during late nights is a problem sometimes.
Great overall has 5 floors 1st one has learning commons + printers and the 5th floor is the best one for studying it's the "quiet floor" also had a Starbucks right at the entrance. Open 24 hrs mon-thurs.
I have been coming to this library about 5 days a week every week for the past 2 years to study and catch up on assignments. because i have nowhere else to study! However, if I don't come super early on weekdays I end up on the floor studying. So more desks would be nice. The 4th floor that is suppose to be a quiet floor is not that quiet. People are always talking and some students answer phone calls and have a loud full on conversations. One time I told a student his music was way too loud and if he could lower the volume down he got mad and started slamming things around then picked up his stuff and left. Maybe there should be at least one employee on every floor monitoring what is going on. Also, those quiet study rooms are not so quiet, people are so loud in there and people sitting near them can hear everything they are saying. Oh and one more thing, it's super cold in there, sometimes when i go to the bathroom and glance at myself in the mirror i can see my lips turning bluish purplish. I am not sure if that's done on purpose to get students to buy some warm drinks from Starbucks! But other than that everything else is good, the front desk staff are nice and the IT staff are very helpful.
Great place to study. It has a variety of places depending on your studying tactics. If you want to have a quite area, you can go any floor from 3-6. If you wanna work with groups, you can stay in the first or second floor. It even has study rooms for people who wanna study in their own little group. Depending on the size of the group, you can choose which room you want.
More private seating would be nice. Tutoring services are very helpful, I recommend. The Starbucks employees are alright. Wish they would open the windows from time to time because it smells really kept up in there. More parking would be great. This is such a useful place to park on campus, I kind of wish they had a bigger parking garage for peak times and days... forget all of that talk about how most of the times, they’re empty. This is a very useful place to park and there should be more parking. Also solar panels on top would be nice.
