Specialized Tracks of the Clinical Program
Adult Clinical
The Adult Clinical track provides training in the practice of clinical assessment and intervention. Therapy training is offered in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, experiential, emotion-focussed, and family therapy. The Psychological Services and Research Centre (PSRC) is where much of the training is provided.
Child Clinical
The Child Clinical track provides solid grounding in both typical child development and developmental psychopathology, as well as in a broad range of clinical assessment and intervention techniques. The Child Study Centre provides a training and research centre for students.
Clinical Neuropsychology
The Clinical Neuropsychologytrack has a life-span developmental orientation and provides training in child clinical neuropsychology, adult clinical neuropsychology, and cognitive neuropsychology.
Recent graduates of the Clinical Neuropsychology track are employed in medical schools, universities, hospitals, and specialized clinics such as rehabilitation centres.
Clinical Psychology
The mission of our Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology is to prepare graduate students for careers as clinical psychologists in community, health/medical, academic, and/or research settings. We follow the "scientist-practitioner" model, and incorporate theoretical, empirical, and applied knowledge and skills into all aspects of the program. The goal of the Clinical Psychology Program is to develop skilled and ethical professionals who are competent in interpersonal relationships, assessment and evaluation, intervention and consultation, and research.
Social Psychology
The goal of the Applied Social program at the University of Windsor is to educate students as scholars, researchers, and practitioners in various areas of applied social psychology. The program's combination of course work, research, and practicum and internship experience provides students with the resources necessary to teach, work, and conduct research in a variety of settings, including university departments, educational and community organizations, government agencies, social service agencies, hospitals, businesses, management consulting firms, and human resource groups.
