Established in 2009, the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is located on the lower level of the Surbeck Center on the campus of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSM&T) in Rapid City, South Dakota. The VRC provides School of Mines veterans the opportunity to relax, study, socialize, and receive tutoring from fellow veterans.
The VRC contains lockers, study tables, couches, a beverage cooler/refrigerator, toaster oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker with hot water dispenser, coffee, tea, sodas, waters, hot chocolate, and a flat-screen TV.
The VRC is sponsored jointly by the School of Mines and TRIO Veterans Upward Bound, a program funded by the Department of Education.
