I have been a patron for almost 30 years. I have never had a bad experience. I have never had bad service. Yes at times it has been busy, but never bad. food has been very consistent over the years, certainly the duck, most of all, has been amazing throughout the entire time, also the duck noodle soup and the BBQ pork over rice not the crunchy skin not that there is an issue, i just don't get that one, and any of the seafood dishes I have tried, and the pan fried noodles, all are awesome. the Dim Sum is kind of a new thing relatively speaking and i get that from time to time, usually as an appetizer. When I come here, it's like visiting an old friend. Some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. This place is traditional, not trendy. Siu mei is the staple attraction for me. large tables filled with extended Chinese families sharing meals together is what you can expect to see when you dine here. Not many places like this around, now that Fortune has closed. Try getting the half duck, maybe soy chicken, the pork, and some pan fried noodles and a shrimp dish and a veg like eggplant in garlic sauce and you can't go wrong!
Tonight for our 5 year anniversary my Asian wife wanted some authentic Asian food. We heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered for starters we ordered Crab meat asparagus soup. It was very good. We shared it and finished all of it. The next thing we ordered was the fried lobster. It was very good. I only had a bite because its too high in cholesterol for me. Also we ordered the squid with sea salt. All was very good. So we have no complaints but only good things to say.
The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. We also felt the portion sizes were fantastic compared to other dim sum spots we have tried in the area. Easy parking, yummy food, good variety, and friendly staff. What more can one ask for? We would come back here again.
We wanted to try a new Dim Sum and this place came up. The building looks old and inside wasn't as fancy either. The food was pretty good. Only if they had additional help coz the place was packed! They only had 2 waitress and 1 bus boy to clean tables. The place was not organized and was a mess. It was hard to place an order and the food took forever. Just to get our check took 30 mins. I would recommend to eat here becuase the food tasted well. But the service was terrible.
Really like this place, never disappoints. Food is always good, they are not super expensive, just right. Lots of room inside, you can definitely have no trouble seating a big crowd easily 20 plus inside. I recommend this place, owners are super nice and best service. They are also super fast. I ordered a meal on Sunday afternoon and it was ready in 15 minutes for pickup I ordered about 8 items. And everything tasted amazing. I have been going to this place I would say for the last 15 years. It used to be open till real late like 2am, this was the place where other restaurants owners would go after closing their restaurants, so that tells you how good their food is.
The dimsum dishes at this restaurant are very diverse, but nothing new and unique. But the traditional ones are available. Those dishes I ate were quite tasty, the shrimp were not fishy and elastic. Only the dumpling shell is a bit thick and hard. It’s because I went on holiday or not? You can try to confirm it, since it worth for a try. Also, my family will coming back next time.
My first time to the restaurant my Chinese friend's recommendation for an authentic Cantonese food place. I was very disappointed with their service, sitting on a table for twenty minutes waiting for plates and a server. The food, Dim Sum was greasy and lukewarm, Cantonese fried noodle with few pieces of seafood was very disappointing. I'd rather pay more to eat better Chinese food than an inexpensive and poor quality food that many old Asians prefer.
We placed double order of four entrées for carry out; they gave us half portion of some dishes. If you don’t check the price, they cheated you on it too by adding extra dollar to each dish. The food was not good. Staff is not friendly.
Went there twice last May 2019. Good food but the waitress who took our order was nasty and did not smile at all. We were served lukewarm tea that we asked to be changed but the tea still came back lukewarm. Had the dimsum - taro puff and the turnip cake XO was good, and then when we went back, we had the fried shrimp, eggplant, fried chicken and chive dumplings. Best dishes we had were the taro puff, turnip cake, fried shrimp and eggplant. Easy parking and next to the Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich shop.
Came here for weekend dim sum. Friendly/smiling service, yummy tasting tea and a lot of different kinds of dim sum. Most of the dim sum dishes I tried were pretty good and were not salty and didn't taste too greasy! Definitely give the cubed turnip cakes with XO sauce a try! Would definitely come back to this hidden gem when in the NOVA area.
