"We are a mercantile located in the 1856 original general store for the historic hamlet of Vischer Ferry, New York, halfway between Albany and Saratoga Springs. We offer fresh baked goods, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, quiche, espresso drinks, and ice cream in the summer. Our curated merchandise includes local and handmade products; our popular namesake scented candles; soaps and lotions; stationery and greeting cards from several lines, including Rifle Paper Co.; and many other unique items. Great breakfast sandwiches and a lovely grounds where our Urban Sketchers group had a comfortable place to do art and enjoy the day. A great pavilion with a roof shielded us from a rain storm and hot sun. I will be returning to this great little place.

Some places just feel right! Yes, the food was delicious. Yes, the decor was done well. Yes, the location is lovely. Yes, the staff was kind, inviting and attentive. There's a difference between customer service and hospitality. Vischer Ferry General Store has hospitality spot on! Thanks for a great experience.
Such a cute store, love to see them selling local vendors' items in the merch side. They have smallish selection of food but what they've got is really tasty. Great iced chai lattes! And the proprietress Louise is wonderful and upbeat every time : Indoor seating is back, and outdoor seating is plenty in the good weather months. Easy walking distance to the Preserve walking trail, though you can usually park right on the trailhead
This was a nice find! Quiche and breakfast sandwich are delicious. The lattes are really great too. The property is lovely, lots of places to sit outside. And lots of great things to shop for in the store as well. Looking forward to going back!
I love the variety in the store. Lots of great Christmas and gift ideas. The food is good but the atmosphere is why you go. Plus, you are supporting local. I had their chocolate and pistachio latte, which was a nice change of pace. I asked for it to be small amount so it wasn't sweet, and it was great that way. Also had their breakfast sandwich, which was wonderful.
Such a wonderful place! I called and spoke with Louise and explained that I lived in a different state but wanted to surprise my parents a latte and breakfast and she went ABOVE and BEYOND and hand delivered it to them!! Our family LOVES this cafe!
Neat little store with very good coffee and cappuccino, tasty though limited food like sandwiches, salads, and quiche.
We can find good atmosphere in this shop. And I always enjoy their delicious ice cream in their nice garden.
This is a cute little gift shop in the middle of nowhere. There are nice New York upstate items like hats, shirts, jewelry, candles, soaps, cloths, etc. There is also a small Cafe and coffee shop with many flavors of syrup available. There is an expanded outside seating now but only a few seats inside on porch. They sometimes have little events outside. Nice stop for cider etc after a hike at vischer ferry preserve!
