A safe, permanent home isn't something a child should only dream about!
Over half a million children live in the foster care system today because they are unable to live safely at home due to some form of abuse or neglect. A CASA volunteer is an unbiased, consistent, caring adult dedicated to taking the time to fully evaluate a child's situation and representing that child's best interest in court. The CASA Volunteer stays with the child's case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home with hope for a positive future.
The mission of CASA of Southeast Missouri is to ensure:
--that the child's immediate and long term needs are met while in foster care
--that a healthy, permanent placement is secured for each child in a timely fashion
--to highten public awareness and response to the needs of abused and neglected children
