The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was founded on the North American Continent in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 26, 1819 when Thomas Wildey and four members of the Order from England instituted Washington Lodge No. 1.

Washington Lodge #1 meets on the second and fourth monday of every month at 7:30 Pm. Anyone wishing to join our Lodge should contact our Noble Grand Phillip Ciesla for more information.

My mum was looked after by lovely carers at the Washington Lodge in Tyne and Wear. One of them was crying when we came in a few minutes after she had peacefully passed away. It was a great comfort to her family that she had been looked after so well. Highly recommended.

My mum wasn't there long as she was terminally ill but the staff were absolutely brilliant so attentive and respectful till the end can't praise them enough thank you all so much  xxx

Pretty slipshod in their job. Friend went in in a bad way after having dementia for 8mths. Sent to hospital without noting time sent, didn't even inform his daughter who's next of kin. Their excuse was it had been overlooked. They rang her the next morning - could have been too late by then. Wouldn't advise anyone else who cares to use this place - to my mind they'd be playing with fire.
