A very quiet campsite despite being close to highways. While you can hear the traffic if you listen closely at night, it's a price to pay for the convenient location. Sites are private, though the main strip is a two way street. The natural beauty of the campsite stands out with a lovely lake and plenty of trails.
Great place to walk each day a sunset. Nice loop trails, great campgrounds, yurts, beaver den, wildlife area. I love it. Thanks!! Dog-friendliness: Why not, dogs like to walk with us!!
Great park for a nice stroll. I went here for a photo shoot and it came out great. Lots of scenery and the lake was beautiful. I would come again if I was in the area. Here is something to note for anyone coming in the off season. There is a semi good size parking lot so you shouldn't have issues with parking. Nobody at the gate but there is a gate check for campers and possibly a fee during the summer. The road is a nice loop but it has some large hills. Its hard to get lost because its not a huge park. Overall the park is very friendly and I think its nice for a little getaway for a day. Summer will probably be better than late fall.
We have been camping here for years. Just tried a yurt this last time, and boy it was fun. Loved the electricity, the bunk beds were comfy. And plenty of space. It rained the first day, so the inside table was great! Also, great night fishing, but a little buggy. My family will definitely be coming back, for a yurt or a campsite. Restrooms: Has a shower, fairly clean , and hot water!
Camped here for two nights while visiting a friend in Worcester. The good - friendly and helpful staff - campground and facilities well maintained and clean - nice trails - well located for amenities like restaurants and shops The bad - terribly expensive for non mass residents - many campsites didn’t seem to have a level spot to park car camping or to set up a tent - first night, I had to take a cold shower cos it seemed like the hot water runs out? Second night I showered earlier so I got warmer water. - no shelter above the outdoor sink so I had to do my dishes in the pouring rain - can hear the trucks and traffic on the highway from my campsite.
Nice campground and clean yurt. Really enjoyed the trails and the surrounding area and can't wait to come back. Three stars because the beds in the yurt 1 are queen size mattresses that have been stuffed onto an undersized bed frame such that the sides of the mattress are raised and two people cannot share the bed without hopelessly ending up in the center of the bed. Making it really difficult for this yurt to hold 6 people comfortably. Also the sheet that employees are supposed to mark when the bathrooms are serviced showed that the men's bathroom hadn't been cleaned since August and the women's room since July. That's a damn long time to go between cleanings and it showed. On the whole we had a nice time, but I would recommend avoiding yurt 1 because of the beds and using the bathroom by the pond to shower because it is MUCH cleaner.
Very nice place to relax ,kayaking, fire and a yurt to sleep in really cool never been in one. Nice view and quiet.
The yurt was great and beds were comfortable... plenty of room inside with many outlets nice big table inside..has a ceiling fan and a few windows. bathroom is closed by..a picnic table outside by the fire pit
We brought our kids here to fish, hike and swim… was wonderful! Our first camping trip since having kids! Only stayed a couple nights but worth it. We stayed at site 17 which is a great view but there quite a dingle to go down to get to the water from the site. Wish there was a rope or steps to get back up but we made due. Plenty of room for two tents and two vehicles though. Not far from a water spigot and the bathrooms/showers. Red squirrels and crows were quite noisy in the early morning but that’s to be expected!! Trails well maintained. Overall we had a good time!
I really wanted to love this place but the women’s room near site 35 where I stayed was atrocious! It was like National Geographic in there. Clearly, no one monitors or cleans it. I wanted to take a shower and couldn’t. I understand that with camping, yes…there are bugs but this was too much. Tree frogs, huge spiders and a clogged drain from massive amounts of hair building up. The roads are extremely bad and pot holed/rocky so if you have a car be careful, you’ll get a flat. I was nervous to drive around and explore this place for fear of getting a blowout! My site was under pine trees and my black suv got covered in tree sap. All over. There was no where else to park, except under these trees. I was up at 5am boiling water to remove it. I have to get it professionally detailed which is going to cost money. Lastly, the mosquitoes were really bad. I’ve never in my experience of camping have encountered as many bug bites in my life. Such a disappointment. Too many bad things that happened to make this enjoyable. I packed up at 7am and couldn’t wait to go home. Never again.
