It's a standard two level subway station, serving both Express and local trains. You can easily connect to the A, C, E, F, M, -D lines downstairs. The station has an elevator and some news stands with and snack’s , drinks…
It's a good hub to take the A, B, C, D, E, F and M trains
This heat got me realizing I wouldn't survive in Hell. It's time to change
There are multiple entrances to this station, there are 3 entrances at Waverly Place/6th Avenue, and another one at 3rd Street/6th Avenue. I entered from Waverly Place and 6th Avenue, and just by the entrance, I could feel the warmth and humidity of the station. There was also some weird water spewing onto the tracks on the Downtown and Brooklyn F/M train platform. This station is barely light up, compared to other stations in NYC. Remember: The A/C/E trains stop on the upper level, while the B/D/F/M stop on the lower level. And be sure to listen to announcements, or read the signs, as this station is notorious for trains rerouting and/or used as a terminal if there are problems on either the 6th or 8th Avenue lines.
It's a mta subway station so yeah it does smell like piss and filled with bums at night. Watch out for the rats though...
My experience continuous to be most excellent.
A,E,C,D,B and F trains stop here. Huge station. Has elevator , it has a escalator as well. The subway is always hot. Pretty clean. Seem to have some people to entertainment the passenger always with their talent. This subways has two mini store.
I know I tend to "Love" alot of places on Google, but West 4th, growing up, was our gateway to 'The Greenwich Village'! So...we were here aloto! Rhymes with gelato... One of our "Hippest" Stations! And busiest! Saw one of the "Warriors" here, Holla! N.J.!! "No Joke", not, "New Jersey". Actually, he was one of the members of the bad gang that got beat up at Cony in the end. Holla!
The whole city passes thru here very busy very crazy watch your back famous basket ball park outside
Smells of pee and it's not clean and there are people selling stuff and there are plastic bottles on the floor and it's extremely noisy and it's hard to know which train is coming to which level of which platform so it's just a confusing mess of an experience
