The crew of 4 showed up right on time and went right to work and within no time had the piano wrapped and loaded on the truck. Once to the new location they had it up the steps and standing upright in record time. These guys know what they are doing. I've now used West Michigan Piano 3 times and am always impressed. Thank you for taking care of "The Beast".
We are so happy that we purchased our Kawai K-400 from West Michigan Piano. Right from the start we felt at home as Lyn stayed past closing time answering all of our questions. Then later as we closed the deal with Jeff, the same thing, taking extra time to make us feel right at home. Thank you Lyn and Jeff for making our piano purchase such a enjoyable experience! Great piano, greater piano store!
We were very impressed with the three men who moved my parent’s piano to our house. They were punctual, respectful & professional … definitely knew what they were doing. They handled the piano with care & were also mindful of our floors. They paid attention to the details & made sure we had contact information in case any questions came up. I would use them again!
West Michigan Piano has been so helpful to our school. Our school NorthPointe Christian was in desperate need of a couple pianos. They donated us two pianos in great shape, delivered them to the school. Our future business will always be with them as they have been so helpful to us; from moving pianos, to helping set up dollies for our Clavinova's, to donating pianos out of the kindness of their heart for a school in need.
I am so happy with my new piano, a Kawai GX-6 -- with its beautiful resonate sound and great key action! Seth Luplow, the sales associate and technician that I worked with, is exceptional. He patiently worked with me to find just the right piano. And the movers were so professional -- very careful and obviously very experienced. I highly recommend them!
West Michigan Piano was hired to move a piano, but I can not recommend them for this service to anyone else. I served as the property manager for the selling party in a recent transaction of a family heirloom piano from the late 1800s. The good part: They hired Star Excavating to crane the baby grand out of the upstairs of this house and that was a great choice, I have worked with that crane crew before in moving pianos and tree trunks and they are very competent and careful. However, the bad part: When the West Michigan Piano moving team began to dismantle the piano for transport, one of the team lifted the piano by the center of the keyboard so that the gentleman under the piano could separate the legs. I rushed up and told him not to ever lift or push a piano by the keyboard and that it's an easy way to damage the piano and change it's sound, and that I had learned this when we had to move the Steinway at Hope College. The crew supervisor was quick to challenge me and ask "Who are you!?!" as he must have forgotten that I was the keyholder who just let him into the property and was representing the selling party. The rest of the move was ok and they got the job done quickly and were off to deliver it in about 30 minutes, including crane lift time. As they were preparing to depart, I approached the gentleman who had lifted the piano by the keyboard and restated what I had been taught/learned in the past and how fragile and sensitive the keyboard area is. He responded with a casual "I've never had a problem before." to which I then asked him "Do you play the piano?" and he answered "No." At this point I didn't know what else to say so I ended the conversation. There's nothing that I can say to him to make him care about the equipment that he is moving. Overall, I was not pleased with the level of courtesy that they showed to myself or the customer. They could have at least apologized, or have been polite when I expressed my concerns during the dismantling. I would not recommend West Michigan Piano, and I can see how and why the other recent reviewer posted that they had a broken soundboard on their newly purchased and delivered piano.
Great experience at West Michigan piano. The owner Ken is an awesome guy as well as their sales team. Seth was the one that I worked with the most. The entire team is helpful and friendly. Buying a piano was all new to me and it was nice to be in a place where I could trust their recommendation. I found the price to be more than fair as well! The delivery team was top notch and careful in my home. They continue to provide great customer service even after the sale. Highly recommend.
Nice, clean store with a good selection of pianos, both new and used. Jimmy E helped me to select an exceptional grand piano in my price range, and I could not be happier. When I mailed them the check to pay off the piano, I enclosed a note asking that they call/email me to confirm that they received it. The check was deposited and money withdrawn from my account no call/email, and when the piano was delivered, the movers presented me an invoice with the amount due which had already been paid. I showed the movers that I had paid the amount, and they were kind enough to let it go. An interesting lapse in communication for such a substantial amount of money, but still a good experience for the most part.
Happened to be in the area and decided to stop by, just to look around. I'm not fortunate enough to own a grand piano, so I'm always happy to go to a showroom and play one every so often. The gentleman that greeted us was more than happy to let me sit down at any piano i wanted to just to try it out, and the showroom was so beautiful. I've been to other piano stores that were not so welcoming. Very glad that was NOT the case here. Would happily drive 3 hours just to visit again and purchase from them when the opportunity comes.
A little less selections according to the staff but still had a wide variety of pianos to look at and play. The staff member who greeted me allowed me to play any of the instruments as well as took the time to describe each one in detail. Take the time to go and see the instruments and get the experience!
