I don't use NJ Transit and Parking often. On this years' 911, I decide to go to city to attend the World Trade Center memorial event. Everything is OK until I found a Parking ticket on my car for $75 when I came back. Well, couple years ago, I went 64 Princeton -Hightstown road to make sure if they still have the weekend free program for West Windsor residence, they said YES. Now they want me to pay $75 for a 5 dollar parking because I parked in wrong spot! I think this is fishing and not acceptable. Today, I am still fighting.
Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. I accidentally forgot to pay my meter, and when I called the woman walked me through how to pay my parking on my phone, and even offered to be accommodating if I had already been ticketed. I now Park in the Vaughn lot which takes a solid 5 Minutes to walk to the platform, but I have never had any trouble finding a spot or making my train. If you look at the maps and remember your license plate you will have no problem figuring out where to go. I very much believe the negative reviews on this thread are unrepresentative of the service provided by this agency.
Those that don't commute to the city every day or have a monthly permit have to park far out even if we get there early in the morning when there are plenty of spaces up front. I work late and long days in NY two days a week and walking the side walk to Vaughn is often dark and scary late at night. It is very frustrating to miss a train or walk to the lot late at night when I get to the parking lot very early in the morning before so many others. With the cost of a train ticket to NY plus parking at almost $40/day we deserve better from the WW parking as well as from the reliability and comminication from NJT.
I totally agree with the previous review about the $60 dollar parking ticket. We spent the day in New York with 2 other families, 3 cars total, and we all got $60 tickets. What a money grab! Come on, get real West Windsor Township. Well we will not be using that lot or station any longer or doing any business with West Windsor Township in the future.
I wish there was a score lower than 1 star. Total garbage lot. No lights. Tight spaces. Parking machines are slow and cumbersome. Costs more to use the app. Typed in my plate wrong and even tho I paid 5$ to park in that trash lot I got a whopping $60 ticket on top of it! Unelss of course I wanted to take a day off work to fight it on their schedule. Come on ww. Toally sucks.
I have a ride & share permit, and today my partner was feeling well and i had to drive alone and park there in ride & share lot. Unfortunately there was a attendent at the ride& share area, who said i can't park there if i am alone. I said i know that but my partner is not well, and my train and was about to leave. But this guy was adamant and forced me to park at a different lot. by the time i parked and paid for the parking, my train left and next train was about 20 minutes away. So i went to this attendent to ask what should i do if the partner is not feeling well, and he was like " i give a damn, and i don't care even if your partner is dead". After that all i asked him was for his name, and he came with on with all "F" and "A" words and racial comments. Wow just taken my surprise that, a employee of this parking authority can use such language and racial comments without any fear. without a doubt i am going to drag them to court and make them pay for it.
I'm not a regular commuter and parked at Princeton Junction train Station on a weekend. Parked my car in empty lot I pulled in to off Alexander Rd and paid for parking in the machine that was set up in that same lot. When got back from city had a $60 ticket and was told the empty lot I parked in the same one the parking machine was in was permit-only and I had to park in one of the other empty lots. A complete SCAM.
People there handling the permits are friendly. Its website seems to be built by one person 20 years ago, which definitely needs improvement. I heard people fined because of entering wrong number, which sucks. They should have a scanner to scan the plate at each entrance.
Be careful where to park as there are different parking lots for different types of day parking or long term or monthly pass, so stuffy the maps before using it. even if you pay but park in wrong spot you will get ticketed ..
I went to the WWPA office to submit my documents. Very helpful staff and clarified all the doubts.
