Restored Mill now used for various functions. Great place to launch a kayak down to the Susquehanna River along the Bent Creek.
It is a great park. It was nice to see the original paintings on the building from when it was an amusement park. I loved coming here when i was a kid. The park is beautiful. RJ and I had fun. I plan to come back with my other son Jackson so both can play. The memorial for those in the military is beautiful.
Community park along the Conodoguinet Creek. Creek access is rustic through the edge trees and weeds but with a pretty good beach. Park in the big main lot and walk along the chain link fence down to the creek. Make your own path. Calm creek area is nice for sitting and kids to play in. Water is only about a foot or two deep in the summer. Good shade along the creek but too wet to sit on the ground. Picnic tables are up from the creek edge in the main area. The park is not very developed and simple. Nice open field areas for flying kites.
A prominent amenity this park offers is the 9 hole disc golf course. And on the day of my last visit, there were several groups of people participating. There is a pavilion good for group picnic and organized activity. And a rather small 2-slide playground for kids. It's along side the Conodoguinet Creek and so fishing would be another possible activity. In fact, this was the place where I first tried fishing when I moved to PA. There is nice boat launch ramp but an overkill nevertheless because the creek being only 1-2 feet deep, only kayaks, canoes, and floats would be usable. Ambiance-wise, this park feels rather dumpy and disorganized -- maybe partly due to the landscape design. The road is also in desperate need for maintenance. Absolutely not a good place for hiking or even a short walk.
It is a great park with lots of things to do. There is a very nice Disc Golf Course. It has 9 holes with concrete tees. Next to each tee, there is a sign informing about the hole. There is a big pavilion, several picnic benches and playground as well. There is also a creek access to Conodoguinet Creek. This acces looks wider and longer compared to other places. It looks like you can bring your car to this place and get off your kayak right off the creek.
We just stopped here on our way trough the area and loved how clean this park was. It was right on the river and had lots of places to sit and eat, a playground for the kids, disc golf, a small riparian wetland habitat, and lots of walking trails. I could have spent a whole afternoon here!
Nice little park ,great place to get out of the creek at the boat ramp
Tiny but beautiful park on a river. Boating, fishing, picnic tables and frisbee course all seemed pretty popular while we were there.
I play the disc golf course here almost every week, and the entire park is always well maintained.
Went fishing and very quiet place to cast into the creek. Loved it and had a great time.
