The Women's Studies Program at Wright State University
The Women's Studies Program at Wright State University places gender at the center of scholarly inquiry, examining how gender influences not only personal identities, but also culture, society, economics, and political systems. Students study issues through primarily an interdisciplinary lens, investigating concerns from the perspectives of history, philosophy, English, communication, sociology, biology, business, economics, political science, and transdisciplinary approaches. Students gain an understanding of the evolution of feminist thought and expression, and are exposed to gender issues as they intersect with culture, race, class, and other categories. Women's Studies options include a B.A., minor, undergraduate and graduate certificates in Women's Studies, and a minor in Sexuality Studies.
