WVU Children's Hospital

We had an amazing experience at the Children’s Hospital, every single nurse over the 24 hours we were admitted were beyond sweet and did an exceptional job. My little one felt safe with every nurse and our whole family was given so much love and respect from all faculty. I’ve never had such a great experience in any hospital setting, thank you for making a scary time for us as peaceful as it could be!!

The staff were amazing. Had several pre-op appointments, we were called back to a room, and everyone came to us for all the appointments instead of having to shift around to each appointment in the hospital. Then, when the procedure happened, we were called at least every hour with an update on the progress. The staff in PICU and CICU were amazing. They ensured my little one was well cared for and ensured I had anything needed while staying until my little one could be released. The hospital was very clean, and we enjoyed the kid touches like interactive drawing tables, kid-sized tables and chairs, and wonderful decorations. They really thought of everything to help support families who are going through a rough time. The family resources were amazing and much appreciated. I've never felt so cared for by a facility before. The whole place made what we were going through easier to cope, and it was by no means easy. Couldn't be more thankful.

My pregnant girlfriend and I have been here for 6 hours and have just been told we’d be here for another 2 hours. She had 5 appointments scheduled at once and we were told it was only 1 and would take about an hour and a half. Neither of us have eaten and have been sitting in a room for 45 minutes just to be told the appointment wasn’t for another 15-20 minutes. I don’t understand and I’m extremely upset about the situation, we both have low blood sugar and other disabilities that hinder us and have made being here this long even worse.

We had great experiences each time we had to stay here! The doctors are amazing and have such great nurses and staff assisting them. They do everything to make you and your child as comfortable as possible. As much as I dread hospital stays, I will always refer this one!
