My daughter Noel and Grandson both go to the Eye Institute here in Morgantown. It's connected to the Physician's Building via walk way inside the hospital. Especially handy when weather outside is bad The staff here is very nice. The common areas are always so clean. I love this lobby area with all the greenery and trees, it's like you are in a peaceful jungle. We were able to see doctor and make appointment for next month. Nice department if you are in need.
5 star doctors, 1 star service. No matter what your appointment time, expect to wait 2 hours at the very least before you see your doctor. Whats the point of making an appointment if the doctors are always 2+hours behind schedule? Please figure out your time management!!
My husband goes here for his Diabetic Retinopathy and Dr. Leys, literally saved his eye sight, she found a hole that a previous retina specialist missed. This office is amazing and always so kind when we visit.
My son had an appt for 1:30. Literally been sitting waiting in a hallway for 2 hours now. Thought maybe they'd forgotten about him, but when asked the lady said "there were people ahead of him." . Over 2 hours worth of people ahead of him? HoW is that even possible?! Why even bother making appointments?! It really stinks this is the only place with a pediatric retinal specialist in the area or he definitely would be going elsewhere. Just unreal
Waiting an hour for eye drops that take 15mins so someone else can be seen isn’t the way I’ve ever done an eye place. Then finally my daughter could be seen because they were finally done but appt was at 8:30 and took till after 9:40 before my daughter got to see the dr finally. I’ve taken 2 kids in eye drs and walked out faster then this.
700$ for an eye exam. 600$ were "facility fee's" so not applicable to eye insurance. Every other eye doctor i have dealt with is much cheaper and offer the exact same service. Also good luck getting anyone to speak to you about your bill.
A pretense of Covid awareness and prevention here. They herd the patients like cattle to wait for an appointment where patients sit far beyond their appointment time. The chairs are arranged so that patients are spaced. Our appointment was scheduled for 2pm. Sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes beyond that time watching patients come and go. Not once were chairs wiped down between patients. Staff was not friendly. Especially the gate keeper at the front door who told the elderly woman I was assisting to wait outside for 15 minutes. If this appointment wasn't so important, I would have walked out!
I just got out of a visit with Dr. McGuire for my four year old daughter. The Dr. and the woman who assisted were wonderful. My daughter's speech is a bit delayed, and she communicated with her perfectly. She was kind, funny, attentive, and worth her weight in gold. Dr. McGuire is always the same as well. The office is a blessing, and my daughter is not an easy patient.
The place is way to busy be prepared to wait. I was called back fairly quickly but than stuck in a room with the Doctor in and out. I explained what my issue was he took a look dilated my and disappeared for about 45 minutes. They bounce back and forth between patients. RIDICULOUS! I finally had to pop my head out and tell one of the doctors I couldnt wait any longer and needed to leave. The doctor came back with his supervisor to confirm my issue which I still dont understand, was given coupons for OTC medicine and to come back in a week. Still not sure if I want to set up an appointment so I can just sit there in a room...
Dr. A. at the eye institute at WVU has been great. She took the most traumatic experience of my life and made me feel comfortable and confident that I would get through the accident I had with my left eye. Dr. A and the whole staff at the eye institute was amazing. I CAN SEE AGAIN! Thank you so much!
