YaY Jewelry
It's really a corny story but I raised my arms up in the air one day after my kids went back to school and said YaY! I get to make jewelry today. Being creative is simply one of those things I have to do. It has its own living and breathing soul. I could do without it as much as I could do without air, food and water. It is a completing force in my life.
Jewelry spoke to me in a unique way as I have always been a rock collector from my early childhood. I could spend hours in my neighbors rock bed stealing their rocks as much as cruising the shores of Lake Superior for those lovely banded Agates. I love love love stone, plain and simple. It speaks to me as an artist and demands something of me. It is a very primal force that has been imbedded in my soul.
I like to think my jewelry is uniquely me! I love to build jewelry....suppose you could call me the builder of jewelry. I think the construction of a piece of jewelry can lend to just as much interest as its component pieces. So that is why I love tying. You will find that I predominately tie my jewelry. I think it gives it texture, interesting construction and flow. I try to find the uniquely shaped, variegated and drilled stones that I can and let that guide my vision. From their I add a multitude of things, metal crafted by me or others, artists lampwork beads and or artisan made beads.
I love return customers they are the reason I do what I do and when they return I am validated by them that my jewelry is relevant and my vision is understood.
