It's 2023 can we please get rid of the group shower and naked old men just running around freely. A shower is not social hour. I would like to shower in peace alone
Summer program for middle school and elementary school children was OK, but not impressive. Ideally they would target more organized games, athletics, and activities, however they didn't really have much planned out for so many kids. Priced well for parents, but almost every activity wasn't really included, it was priced out so they would just take kids there. They didn't do a great job either of telling parents when they were going on activities so you could plan, but then have to provide extra money so they could participate. Somewhat disappointing.
I love this place! The facility is top notch and so are the employees. I want to give special recognition to April Braxton, Cody, Diane Sheffield and Erica Ragno. They have been exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Being that I'm new to the area I've treated the Y as a sanctuary. It's a great place to meet the best people in chambersburg and they also have every sort of gym equipment and sporting apparatus you could think of.
Positive Experience-the staff here is very helpful, professional and supportive. I left here when my husband and I moved to Waynesboro, PA almost 3 years ago. I had a positive experience while I went here, lost over 80 pounds from diet and working out 5-6 days week, 4+ hours each workout, classes and gym workouts. I hope to join the YMCA in Waynesboro, PA in next few months, depending on my recommended spinal surgery. I haven't worked out regularly since I underwent my first total knee replacement May 2016, my husband diagnosed suffering with cancer and his going through treatments, etc..
There is definitely something for everyone here, even my little one! She is in the discovery center and it is really great. The teachers are phenomenal and I am so happy that we realized they had a preschool program available. Between that and the gym we spend a lot of time here.
Their service is terrible they take way to long to fix broken machines, have to swipe every time I’m trying to go to the bathroom. They’re business hours are terrible, can’t even workout due to them telling you you can’t wear this or that. Don’t recommend!
I was pleasantly surprised when I started going to the Y for their Live Strong fitness program. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of programs for all ages and plenty of machines to work out on.
Attending a wrestling tournament in Chambersburg PA with my 6 foster teens boys. We decided to hit up the YMCA to get a workout in, first staff was rather rude when I asked what we needed tk do to get in as our membership was from out of state. Finally gave us a card. During cardio workout I was told my 14 y/o couldn't be on a treadmill? We then then decided to make use of the sauna room good for helping cut weight only to then be told that was additional membership and had to be 18 to use the locker. I apologized as we didnt know. NO SIGNS or anything posted reflecting that. Kinda sucks that we can't use areas we are used to having access to... Staff not helpful or understanding at all about it either.
We have had a family membership at the Chambersburg Y for over 40 years. Our three Sons grew up with the Swim Team at the Y. We have developed close family friends through our association with the Y. The Y has been a big part of our lives here in Chambersburg. I would recommend you join today.
I have gone this local Y as a guest so many times over the years while visiting family town, and I love this place. April is a wonderful administrator who really helped me get the experience I wanted- systems may change over time and she is making those changes seemless for the patron. Great pools and locker room, as always. Thank you April!!
