My family and I love it out at Jellystone. We have stayed in the cabins, brought a trailer, and have done day passes. Wonderful experience all around. Plenty of things to do for the kids no matter what their ages. Great pizza place on site. The best part of the place is the staff. Susan is the assistant manager there and the woman is a machine, constantly working hard, making sure guests are happy and taken care of. She is very much a big reason why we return to the park. Very much looking forward to returning.
This place was wonderful! My grands had the best time. The employees were all very kind and helpful. We met the GM, Garrett, the first day we were there and continued to see him throughout the park for the rest of our stay. He is hands on to make sure your time at Jellystone is everything you want it to be. We had a health emergency while we were there and every employee jumped in to help and make sure we were okay and taken care of, including Garrett. We will be back. Thank you to all employees at Jellystone.
This campground is decent. My family stayed in the Hill Country Cabin. It was clean enough although there was a dead roach upstairs, and I needed to wash the dishes myself before using them. The beds are not comfortable for adults, but my kid did not complain. Overall, the place needs maintenance. Lots of the mini-split air conditioners don't work, so they have added window units to the cabins. Lots of the water guns and equipment in the water park doesn't work. Things are dirty and a little run-down. The pools needed cleaning. We went during the week in the off-season and it was pretty dead. The good part is it was significantly cheaper, and we had the waterpark mostly to ourselves. The bad part is lots of things are closed, even things we expected to be able to do like the pedal cars. We were able to do mini-golf the course.... surprise.... needed maintenance, the water park, and the pools... but most everything else was closed. Would have been nice to have a few more activities available. On our last night there, they had a fun party for the staff and they opened up the big slides, so that was an unexpected fun thing! I don't understand everyone saying you need a golf cart. We didn't get one and were fine with a 4-year old. We walked everywhere and it was fine, the place isn't that big. The river is pretty and fun to explore. 4 nights was enough, I wouldn't do more than that. Would come again for a cheap vacation, but probably just for a weekend.
SO fun! The water park made for ‘the best day of the trip’ according to my three year old. For reference, the day before I brought her to sea world… wish I had known that for 1/10th the price she would have more fun. The water slides were a blast. Plenty of umbrellas, and even more amenities we didn’t have time to check out. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Bathrooms were clean, well appointed, and had a glorious amount of air conditioning. Made me feel nice and crisp after a hot shower. I would definitely go out of my way to visit again.
We ultimately had fun during our stay but there were many inconveniences and disappointments. Our cabin was filthy when we arrived. All our feet were black by the first night. I won’t go into detail of other things we found. The loft where our children slept got incredibly hot. Also just because you can fit 8 sleeping spaces in a cabin doesn’t mean you should. We had 4 adults and 3 children and were so crowded. The mattresses all had plastic protectors on them which is great but you melt at night because it doesn’t breath. The couch had to be over a decade old. The fake leather stuff was peeling so bad we had to sweep it up daily. We were in a pet friendly cabin with 2 dogs but the enclosed pet areas were all the way across the park. I’m pregnant and had to walk across the park in 103 degree heat just to get passed by people with their dogs on golf carts 10 yards from the dog parks. That’s a people problem not a park problem but it was still devastating. You had 2 enclosed dog areas and they were right next to each either. The price of the 5 night stay didn’t quite align with the quality of our stay. As I said, we ultimately had fun, but the park needs many issues addressed to better serve those staying. Nearby activities: The park does have great activities for children. We loved the jumping bubble and options at the water park.
Cabin was absolutely disgusting. Layer of dust and dirt on every surface and floors we had to wear shoes the entire time, even stepping out of shower. Used q-tips on the floor. Doors covered in mud and stains, broken blinds in doors. Dirty, yellow crusty stained pillow cases. Hair and dirt on mattress covers. Blood stains and mildew smell on towels that we PAID and rented from them. Shower plumbing leaked causing water to go all over bathroom. Bed in main room felt like we were sleeping on a table. We did not sleep and woke up with severe back pain. The AC did work very well though, thank god for that. The splash pad, slides and large pool were good. The other rectangular pool was warm and foggy like everyone was swimming in urine. The pub/ pizzeria had decent pizza and wings but no one cleaned tables. The tables had old food, dirt and dust caked on them. We had to wet towels to clean our own tables. Upon arrival front desk didn’t explain anything either. We had no idea where to start, the schedule for events or that there was even an app to download to figure out the activities and events around the grounds. When asking questions you got very generic answers or even “I’m not sure”. At the pool grill, the people behind the counter told me “I don’t know” when I asked how much souvenir cups were with the register right in front of her and never looked it up. We booked three nights a little over $500 per night and left after one night with zero refund. I suggest you save yourself a trip and money. We could have spent that money on a lot of other places in Texas that take care of their guests. It’s almost crazy how much was so disappointing about this place. I have no idea how it has any decent reviews.
Pleasant and efficient staff. Well maintained property and reasonable pricing for what you get with it. Usually food is way overpriced and undervalue however the quality for the price is fantastic. The bar made proper drinks and the gift shop was well merchandised. Most importantly, this is truly a family friendly park that cares about service and quality of experience.
Took 6 grandkids to this place and they had the time of their life. One even said it was better than Disneyland. Non stop things for them to do. Amazing to see them overcome their fears of water and slides. Came off season and it was like having the park to ourselves.Rooms: 5/5
My kids enjoyed the slides and pool! That is what “made” the weekend trip. We also enjoyed the jumping and mini golf at night because it is to hot during the day. In the morning they each pained a ceramic which was fun for them and inexpensive. They did a great job with the foam party and glow ride! Downside: the cabin. Absolutely disgusting. We booked for a weekend and left Saturday evening because my kids did not want to stay in there. When we checked in Friday evening, my husband who usually doesn’t notice “dirt” saw how dirty it was. We got a cozy cabin and there was hair and dirt everywhere. The bathroom… it was so bad we refused to use it. Old urine all over the side of the toilet, the tub was black, and the sink was not wiped down. We brushed our teeth and washed our faces outside with bottled waters. We brought our own linens so cannot speak on what the conditions those would have been in. The cabins need a thorough clean. Even the baseboards just had hair and buildup all over them. Overall spending time as a family outside was fun, but definitely not worth the price with the condition of the cabin. I was in envy if everyone in their rvs! It is a one and done for us!
Our family had a blast. The fun is endless at this place. But the best part is that you can choose what you want to be a part of and what you want to skip. We spent 3-4 hours each afternoon at the pool. This set up with pools, slides and water jungle was wonderful. Small enough to keep tabs on the kids and relax as adults. The worst part was the cleanliness of our cabin... or the lack there of. The floor was filthy. My crawling baby would have black hands and knees. There was trash UNDER the trashcan which tells you they didn't even move it to clean. There was a nasty wet towel in a cabinet above the toilet we just left it there and who knows how long it had been there. The back of the toilet where the seat connects was GROSS. Again, clearly not given a basic wipe down. We met some people there and they mentioned their cabin was dirty too HAIR on the walls of the shower. They REALLY need to do a better job cleaning. Bring your own lysol wipes! Tip: This property you will 100% want a golf cart. It is large and spread out. It made vacation so much easier with our 3 kids. Also, stay near the REC center if you have small kids. There are SO many activities that take place there. It was convenient to just walk across the road to it.
