A Lodge at Bloem

Fantastic Venue, such a shame that a person like Andra kan ruin your special day completely. Utterly rude and forgetful. We visited the venue several times for decor and menu planning, yet a week beforehand she had forgotten what we agreed upon at the venue. The accommodation had no towels, toilet paper or hot water - this was embarrassing when we found out from our guests.

It was OK. Lots of things not working in the Chalet. Showers were terrible, but it was quiet. They have some nice bush to go for walks in as well as some wildlife. Also a few things went missing after housekeeping came to clean, but it is SA, so it's to be expected.

Good location, in peaceful and rustic setting. Pity about the don't care attitude of the manager at breakfast which is a joke and the unprofessional staff. The units are also not sufficiently equipped to qualify as self catering, and what there is, has seen better days.

Went for a viewing and Andra Erasmus was not too welcoming. We were rushed through the venues. After the weekend i had sent her an email to let her know that the place is very nice but that we felt a bit rushed, she replies by saying "this is not at all true, really" - I replied to let her know that this was just constructive criticism and apologized if i had offended her. We decided to go with another venue - I also mentioned to her that good customer care and service beats any nice venue any time! I definitely do not recommend this place. 13 June 2019 I received a call from Andra this morning saying that she saw my first review and how can i tell the world that she is a horrible person when i do not even know her, asking me if i am not happy with myself that i am doing this. I find this very surprising and disgusting that i must receive a call like this at work. I must say i needed to keep my composure so i did not at all get to say what i wanted to say. Should anyone think of using this venue i will definitely discourage them. Very disappointed at the moment.

A Lodge is a beautiful venue with a touch of nature and romantic ambience. For that I will give them a 4 out of 5 stars. However before you decide to choose them as a venue there are a few things I want you to know before you make your choice. 1. Poor Management: we have booked our wedding a year prior and A Lodge hosted an event prior our wedding day in the same venue. They managed to move the event to a smaller venue and gave us access to setup our venue on Friday. The access to the venue was poor. We had to phone a provided number which was continuously ringing with no answer. 2. While our decorations were being setup and set out on the tables Management had let people come in to view the venue while there people were going through our stuff and someone even took a sample home with them. They had let us know that they have a walk in freezer where we could store our flowers overnight. Little did we know they were talking about a freezer that is approximately 1m by 2m and they use it to store their kitchen food etc. 3. We spend the night after our wedding and some of our guests joined us where they had their chargers and other small items stolen from the rooms. Our charger was among the stolen items. All in all our experience with them were not fantastic at all. Think very carefully if you want your wedding here. You only get once chance and this was one we would never have taken if we knew what we know now.
