Adega's - Midrand

Adegas full chicken... the hot is not too hot, but im gonna stick with mild in future. The sauce is rich!!

Portugese restaurant. They have a wide variety of dishes suitable for most tastes.

The food and hospitality was amazing. I definitely recommend.

Great place, friendly staff and yummiest food

I went for an early dinner during the week. They have succeeded in creating that very elusive casual but chic ambiance. The location doesnt provide any nice views though. The food was OK. I ordered a combo of prawns and calamari. They were well cooked, but it was clear they weren't caught that morning. Also, the sauce that they basted them with was not particularly nice. But the sauces that came on the side, lemon butter and garlic, were VERY nice. Also, the wine by the glass selection is very slim, with only one choice for both red and white. Our waiter provided a very high standard of service. Overall, it's OK. Just OK, though.

Although this maybe generally a good restaurant and we are a very large group of about 50, the restaurant is only about 60% full and food quality is very sub standard. We are ordering off a set menu also. The "Monk Style" Steak is dry and very well done... I ordered medium. The sauce was nice... Fresh. My companions around the table ordered the king prawns. I had 2 of them. Dry dry and tasteless... Frozen prawns. Nice slap chips with the steak... Real takeaway style. Very very large portions... If you are hungry good. But the portions are overwhelming... European guests mouths open... The atmosphere is nice generally but could do with some music. The service is very standard... Not bad.

Average service and average food. Got half chicken and prawns. Even though we arrived shortly after lunch service started the food we were served was like warm. Nando's chicken is far superior in terms of seasonings and sauce. Prawns weren't that great either. Chips were the best part. Waiter disappeared for long periods of time. There were barely any other patrons so I don't understand the reason for his absence.

Always enjoy our times at Adega Midrand. Nice environment in a quiet centre. The food is always great - in fact anything on the menu is really prepared well and will definitely satisfy you. I particularly enjoy the Chicken & Fish. The steaks and ribs are also great. This is also one of my favourite places for Sushi - haven't been disappointed yet. The service is great. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. So all in a all a great place for a meal, whether it's just with your partner, family or even larger groups.

The place serves very good food. Both sea food and your normal red meats. It would be nice if they include VAT on thier Menu Prices. I had a budget when I took my family out, we were about 9 in total, only to be surprised by the VAT on top of the set prices. All I am saying is rather include TAX from the :word go", on the Menu, makes it easy for me the customer to calculate. In fact that would give the customer right/true price.
