Kara Nicha's Midrand

Saw a review on TikTok so had to try. Not very fond of veg only meals but their Toasted Sandwich Special wasn't too bad. The Bhajia's Chilli Bites were ok but the Roti was the best. Value for money and definitely a great place for vegetarians. Didn't like the Samoosa's much though. Sweet meats not the best I've had. All in all, prices allow one not to go hungry. Vegetarian options: Excellent veg options especially when fasting

Love the food, prices and staff are friendly. However a few times now when we get home and check stuff is missing that we paid for. The store is usually to busy to hold the line to check before leaving and ridiculous to drive back for a sandwich or 4 samosas. Needs to be a better way to check all paid for is in the packet.

I just love this place and their food. It's the most affordable food I've found in the Midrand area. The menu is big enough for variety yet small enough to avoid confusion. The food is really great and priced to go! From curries to sweet treats with burgers and sandwiches in-between. This is the perfect vegetarian one-stop food shop! I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed.

As always the food is amazing. I just love the Butternut curry on a Wesnesday. Toasted special is also super yummy and dirt cheap. We always make the effort to go buy and get takeaways. Family of 5 fed for under R200.Food: 5/5

Good variety of Indian food to choose from. They are Vegetarian only. I ordered some samoosas, chips & a special sandwich. Was amazed with the samoosas and the sandwich, the chips were a bit dry, but its for the healthier option. Also got a treat for dessert in the front displays. Really inexpensive and great tasting traditional foods.

There isnt a place in all of SA to get as much value for money. In 2023 you can get a curry and biryani for R20. A curry and 2 rotis for R20. BrilliantFood: 5/5

A little detour and a hungry tummy led me to this absolutely interesting find. Yes I may be slow to finding this place, but it's not often that I am in midrand. Although I have heard of it before. I was actually looking for another indian spot but on arrival it was closed. I saw this shop with a massive queue during lunch time so figured let me see what's on offer. Initially I was completely bamboozled by the prices on the boards until I remembered Kara Nicha's Midrand is a vegetarian spot. The food on offer for a friday was Potato & Brinjal Curry, Broadbeans Curry, Veggie Biryani, Chana Dholl, Dholl and Tomato chutney. The price on the board for a Roti roll was R12. YES R12. A 1/4 Bunny was R12, a portion of Veg Biryani R17. So you could pick any of the curries in a roti or bunny and pay a ridiculously LOW price. I ordered 2 portions Potato Curry, 1 portion Chana Dholl, 6 Potato Samoosas, 4 Puri Patha, 2 pieces Burfee; Chana Magaj, Jelebi and 4 Rotis. ALL of this cost me a meager R65. I mean who charges R2 a roti???? Come on people where else on earth can you feed someone on those prices. The quality of the food was really good, including decent portion sizes and I loved the Patha. They do sell other items and sweetmeats all at even more ridiculously low prices. In these economic times for some families, think this place is the perfect answer for tasty food - Affordable and a great variety. Let's not forget it is the Tamil fasting month, so lots more people eating strictly veg at the moment. Will definitely go back again when in the area. Super super super. Very cheap. Only veggies available and a go to especially if you fasting or a vegan. Sweet meats are available at a very reasonable price. I got 2 meals, 2 sweet meats, 4 samoosas, 2 drinks, 2 vade and 2 puri pathas for myself and my partner which cost under R110. Amazing! It's only a takeout. No sit in at all. Vegetarian options: Cabbage, butter beans curry, dhal, sugar beans, potato curry, soya curry, rice, roti, pumpkin, spinach, chips, vede, potato samoosas, corn samoosas, brenjol and you can decide to have any curry with your rice, roti or make a roti roll. There's many more options...

The food is very cheap just very busy and make sure to check your orders they mix up orders sometimes but overall the food is good value for moneyFood: 4/5
