Allison's Saddlery is a family owned and run business .The Company was started in1902 by J.W Allison, a butcher, using the skins from the butchery to make harnesses for farmers.

Over the years the business has had several owners. For the past 24 years, since 1991, it has been owned by the Shaw family. Coming from a riding background and competing internationally, the family has a good understanding of people and their riding needs.

Allison's Saddlery carries one of the widest ranges of equestrian items for almost all equestrian disciplines. There is also a workshop and factory facility to do repairs and manufacturing of, not only equestrian goods, but also shoes, bags and other leather items.

Our aim here at Allison's is to offer as wide a range as possible to our clients, with the best possible service, at a competitive price.

"Allison’s was founded by JW Allison, who started business as a butcher in 1895. Finding additional income from his animal skins by selling straps, saddles and other leather goods to the public, Allison started advertising as a saddler in 1902, and in 1904 built the beautiful building in Church Street which remained the business premises until 1987 when it moved to Commercial Road.The business traded in those premises for 10 years before relocating to Victoria Road, where it is more spacious and there is an abundance of parking for customers."
