Parklane Centre

The restaurant is always a disappointment in service. This is not a recent problem but has been an issue for years. The service is lacking. The food is often good, but due to delays and failure to communicate to the client, it is hard to walk away a happy client. Take this week, for example. I received a rock-hard scone after asking if it was fresh beforehand. Clearly microwaved far too long so that it seemed fresh. After a complaint, I was assured it would be replaced. 30 min later, I paid for my coffee. No scone ever arrived, and when I mentioned it, a blasé response. Oh. "They are all hard. I don't know what is going on." Sadly, no one thought to let me know so that I did not have to wait like a fool for something that would never arrive. Shocking!

The prepared food section is literally what everyone in Pmb goes there for. The meals are freshly prepared and caters to a wide palate. Buy the mealie bread if they have in store. You will thank me for this suggestion. The store is always well stocked with merchandise and regular specials keep customers happy. The butchery is also a good quality produce. this Spar is recommended. My only issue was last week I purchased 4 Tramezzinis and they were so sweet like candy and that's off putting. I will be returning those. And they tasted as though they were going off, probably some ingredients weird taste. #CurryCulture blog

My only issue is it can be difficult to always offload your groceries and not have trolley porters and have to go all the way back with your trolley. It's hard if you are sick, have children with you. Then there are always people who leave their trolley in the empty parking spaces. Otherwise I enjoy the centre.

Nice mall hidden in plain view. Iiy had all that you need. We even bought good boots for my wife at a reasonable price.

Great place to eat shop and much more

Great Coffee Shop in Spar - quick service, nice food. Lots of shops, all kinds and computer shop, atms galore, easy parking free .

A good variety of stores, anchored by the best Spar in Pietermaritzburg. Clean and modern and well positioned with good parking.

The Parklane Spar specifically has the most fresh and ready to eat meals very convenient for a busy workaholic, from breakfast to lunch to even ordering platters it immaculate.

Service is good The atmosphere is good The challenge is the parking during busy times, but there is another one at the back on Victoria Street, which is the under cover parking. It's just that no one will tell you about it

This is my favourite Spar, excellent deli and salad bar and normally the best baked goods but the Chelsea buns were disappointing on Saturday.
