This place is beautiful and the views too. Only had a conference did not stay over. There is even a friendly tortoise. Professional and friendly place with lovely food and snacks. Bit of a dirt road to get in after you turn off the main road but the dirt road is well maintained and suitable for all cars. Nice out of town vibe and African vibe to it. Very clean.

We hosted our wedding reception at Aloe Lane, I love how the decor and ambiance makes it feel like a home away from home. It was a convenient location for a Joburg wedding with a touch of bush. You really feel miles away from the city. We had all our family and close friends sleep over and enjoy breakfast together the next morning. Thank you for making our day so memorable and wonderful.

The lodge is beautiful,  scenery absolutely fabulous,  but the management leaves a lot to be desired. They charged R100 per individual just to get into the pool, a cockage fee of R10 000 which was never communicated upfront, R240 to light up own hubbly which was also not communicated up-front. I booked the entire lounge and pool area for the day, but upon arrival I was informed that I had to share the space with other lodge guests. In summary, the management must be trained or changed!

The venue is quite remarkable. BUT... That is where it stop. The management is non existent, the staff does not know wat is going on. All questions asked, they refer to someone else. Breakfast served from 6:30 to 9:30, but after 8 not yet ready, so we had to leave without breakfast. Coffee and tea are charged per sachet, without any milk or milk powder. The bar menu states all local beers are available, but nothing.. Just after 7 the morning, it was apparently bar fridge stocktaking time. Will not recommend this lodge to anyone.

We celebrated my youngest daughter's 21st at the lodge.  A fabulous experience - out of this world !!! .  The staff are so friendly and accommodating always there to assist. The food always appetising and scrumptious. We have been there a couple of times now and I must say the beds are extremely comfortable and the furnishings and décor are of the finest quality. The welcome at Aloe Lane...is being asked why you are congregating at this venue? I went to drop off my mother to check in and the owner marched to our car as we were about to park and asked did the travel agent not tell us that this was only for two people? after explaining that I live in Johannesburg and am dropping off my mother - he tells us that we must decide if he is reimbursing the travel agent or we are staying? I will never recommend this establishment to anyone  - very rude and disgusting behaviour in 2018! Disgusted and certainly do not even deserve that 1 start rating.

Thanks Paul and Tk. The service we've got was out of the world. We received the best service you can asked for. They make 100 % sure there guests got the best service. The food was perfectly done. The interior is very stylish and comfortable. Me and my hubby will recommend this guesthouse for sure to anyone who wanted to get away from the huzzle and buzzle of Johannesburg. Welldone you guys. We will visiting again.

I stayed at Aloe Lane for the first time in November and absolutely loved it. I was visiting Johannesburg on business and couldn't bear the thought of another faceless business hotel, so decided to look for something where I could get a taste of Africa as well - and it didn't disappoint. Despite being just half an hour from the airport I really felt like I was in the bush, and that I'd seen something of the country and not just another busy city. Being able to combine the two was brilliant.  I chose Aloe Lane on the basis of its Tripadvisor reviews, the wi-fi and the stunning photos on the website of the pool and the rooms! Although small, the hotel is definitely 'perfectly formed', and having only been open for 18 months, looks absolutely immaculate. I felt welcomed from the minute I walked into the thatch-roofed reception area and that feeling stayed with me for the whole trip.  The view from the pool is outstanding, and the fact that I had a day to enjoy it between meetings was an added bonus. I also discovered that it's possible to do all sorts of day trips, including one to a game reserve in Pilanesburg which I will definitely do next time. I had no idea I'd be able to go on a day safari when visiting Jhb for work! Wish I'd known before . . .  The bar and lounge area, and the outdoor BBQ areas, are beautifully designed and have a real African feel to them. I found out that the owner of the property, who lives in the UK, is also an architect - and you can see his influence throughout the property, in the attention to detail and the beautiful decor. Yet it still felt cosy and homely, and you can just tell it would be gorgeous at any time of year. The roaring log fire in winter would be amazing.  The room I stayed in was fabulous, with a huge mural over the bed and a lovely modern bathroom with a really good shower. A decent sized room, beautifully furnished, tea & coffee-making equipment not always available overseas! and a very homely feel. Breakfast was excellent too, with a really good range of hot and cold food.  While I was there we also hosted a private dinner for six in the Wine Cellar which was excellent. A totally unique experience with gorgeous food, wines and service - I can't praise it highly enough. It was a great added bonus when entertaining our South African colleagues - and they are now planning on using Aloe Lane for their monthly team meetings.  In summary, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to visit Jhb for business, and also as a great winter sun option from the UK with no malaria to worry about, and no jet-lag! It's an ideal hub to visit all sorts of amazing places, and they even have a partner company that can arrange add-on trips to places like the Kruger or Victoria Falls as well - if you can tear yourself away . . .

Don't go there. Take your booking. Take your deposit. Then they change the pricing and when you dont agree they cancel 8 days before your event.  Do use them. Shocking shocking shocking

Literally a stone's throw from Fourways CBD but it's such a serene, peaceful environment. It's like being far from the city yet you can quickly pop out to the city in a minute
