My mom adopted Max from the AACL, she paid them to chip him. Max went missing, we posted about him all over social media, my mom even contacted AACL and asked if they have found a Jack Russel, they told her no but they will let her know if he does come into the AACL. We never heard anything. On Sunday 04/12/2022 my mom came across this post of Max on the AACL Facebook page. My mom then contacted them this morning 05/12/2022, and was informed that they had put Max down, with different stories, that oh he was aggressive which he was not as he was around other dogs and never had a problem or was never aggressive with them, after my mom told them he was not aggressive, they just didn't know what to say. And to top it off he was never chipped so basically the AACL lied and stole my mothers money. As you can see in the post they started to advertise him for adoption on the 01/12/2022, a month after he was taken to the AACL. Absolutely appalled with the AACL, my mother is distraught and heartbroken. Max was not even two years old!!!!! And you guys are still advertising him for adoption which is false advertising and then proceeded to delete mine and my sisters comments off Facebook, informing people of what you had done!!! You are a bunch of disgusting people. No hearts!!!!!!! I see they use that a dog is aggressive just so they can put an animal down, go read on other reviews you will see the same excuse.
Nowhere at any shelter have I felt the compassion and love the staff have for the animals. I was lucky enough to go to the kennels which were clean and dogs looked after. With Dr. Sooliman and Dr Sandra and their whole team behind the scenes I am confident my animals would be well looked after and loved.
Fabio, the cowardly kitty cat. Scared of his own shadow. He was adopted by my father in law about 17 years ago from the SPCA. After living a long and happy life, it was time to say goodbye as 17 years in cat years is somewhere in the 90's. Sadly I was nominated as the one to take Fabio to his basket in the sky. This is not something that I would wish on anyone. Euthanasing a pet is not an easy experience to go though, nor is it cheap. Just call your local veterinarian and ask what they charge. I have had help from this branch of the AACL previously when a stray cat gave birth to her litter on our doorstep. The staff have always been very caring, helpful comforting and understanding. Worth a visit to offer a donation, volunteer, adopt or even just to visit some of the animals they take care of.
