Athlone Stadium is a stadium in Athlone on the Cape Flats in Cape Town, South Africa. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Santos Cape Town. The stadium holds 34,000 people and was built in 1972.The stadium was upgraded in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the intention of using it as a training venue. The estimated cost of the upgrade was R297 million.

Good vibes but no beer
Attended the VoTC Festival yesterday. What a disappointment. The parking is good and safe, but finding the right gate is left to chance. The food stalls are all situated under the stadium stands, in dingy looking areas with poor lighting. By 4pm, a few people were milling around, but people were still erecting stalls, and no entertainment was provided to keep visitors occupied. The area where one could sit and enjoy the food you buy, sold ready made tea, but no coffee, the cakes were underwhelming, and non of the wares a very good sample of our baking heritage. Can't they at least use the Booka Treats?
Parking is good, toilets are clean and sufficient. VOC Summer Festival always bring colour to any place, even if that place is simply too small to accommodate it LOL. People wanted more days! Not sure if it was center management or safety constraints that hampered the flow of visitors to the "exhibition hall" area. That was the only lowpoint for seniors.
Had some difficulty getting in even with a ticket.
Visited the voice of the cape venue... did not like the set up with stands or vendors all lined up under the cold cement area ... just felt all gloomy and dull. Parking was a nightmare ...
Awesome experience. Easy access to the stands and good ablution facilities. Always clean.
With the Western Cape Government mass vacination site roll out at the Stadium. Fast and professional the staff are attentive and knowledgeable giving advice and clear guidance during the procedure. Came this morning they already attended too over 400 people and ran smoothly. So bigups for the Western Cape Government for this opportunity .

Received our 2nd covid19 vaccination shots at Athlone Stadium. What a breeze!! It's a very slick, well run operation. Massive thanks and congratulations to everyone involved here. If you are are still unsure and on the fence, no sweat. Go around there. Check it out. What do you have to lose? ‍‍
