Awesome experience to see Augrabies in flood. We stayed at a chalet that was very basic but very neat with a AIRCON. The service at the restaurant is a bit slow but the food is great. The little shop is also well stocked, from ponchos to meat and wine.
Plan this visit to coincide with good rains it is really majestic. Take the whole day, walk down river, stop at the different viewing points. Then refresh yourself at their restaurant then off you go on your own game drive. This is another heritage site that they are doing an AWESOME job of protecting. Toilets and general area are well kept and clean I do believe you can camp there. It is simply refreshing
Absolutely breathtaking waterfall and surrounding nature.. Also enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the restaurant - delicious and affordable..
Our family and some friends, visited the Augrabies Nasional Park in December 2021. We were greatly impressed by the accommodation and the falls. We had a comfortable stay with aircon in our chalet and all the basic needs like a fridge, kettle, cutlery and such. The view from our chalet was enjoyable and we could see the lights at the falls in the evening which gave it an feeling of grandeur. The restaurant was up to expectation and the service friendly and helpful. We had an enjoyable time.
What an experience, and it was definitely worth the effort to get there. Most of the roads are in excellent condition and well maintained. It's a different world with the friendly nature of the people and the beautiful landscape. This should be on everyone's bucket list.
Augrabies National Park is an awesome trip to do and camp over in their beautiful camping sites. Lush green grass as well as beautiful gardens. Camping facilities in excellent condition with clean showers and toilets. The National Park well maintained and clean. Restrooms: Exceptionally clean. Picnic area: Perfect areas in the campsite. Facilities well maintained and clean
Absolutely incredible!!!... beautiful, impressive, rugged and lots of hiking. Rest camp restaurant was great with a well stocked shop for provisions. Restrooms: Clean and well stocked
The campsite is great. It has all the amenities you need and there is sufficient shaded spots for tents, campers or caravans. Camp sites is first come first serve basis and a suggestion would be to take a ground sheet with as the sites is all sand. Walkway and viewing points at the waterfall is safe, well maintained and greatly positioned. There were some walkways damaged during the last flood, but they were closed out properly. The park provides fuel, gift shop and a restaurant.
A beautiful place. The campsite was very neat and peaceful. I loved the short hike to see other view points.
It was great to visit the falls again after many years. All staff were fabulous, facilities clean and food at the restaurant was well priced and nice.
